MoP Questing Content

The questing in MoP is some of the most frustrating content I’ve ever experienced in WoW. Since released, I’ve experienced countless situations where I have to stop , open a browser, and research how to progress or solve some problem in one way or another. And it’s always either a bug that hasn’t been fixed since 2012, or just some, cryptic, design flaw. I’m finding that many times a quest that should take 5-10 minutes ends up taking 20-30 and it has me seriously frustrated.

What do the Devs actually do? Maybe i’m just ignorant… but it doesn’t feel like they actually do any real “developing”. They just tweak the existing systems slightly and call it a day… leaving us to stew in the sea of bugs, glitches and obvious flaws. Are they just incapable of smoothing the content? Or maybe they are constrained by their bosses?

Considering how much of the gear and essential profession recipes are locked behind a massive wall of buggy and downright horrible quests, I don’t know if I have the patience or temperament to sustain myself through this expansion… I feel like there was a serious lack of REAL development behind the MoP release.

I feel like it’s generally been much smoother than Cata Classic’s launch was, and overall isn’t too bad at all…

But to each their own, I suppose.

There are bugged quests still, but not that many, so I’m inclined to believe this is largely a skill issue if it’s happening often

Cata had a smooth launch but a really bad prepatch. I’ve probably experienced 10X the amount of bugs in this brief brush with the MoP content then I did in the entire Cata play through.

Oh, okay. I can’t say it’s fresh enough in memory for me to remember. I just feel like there was more a sentiment of it being a buggy floating around on the forums.

I’ve been playing a lot of MoP, but I haven’t experienced any of the bugged quests, yet. I’d probably have a different perspective if I had.

Can you provide examples of the more common issues you are running into? Your post is vague and does not give room for others to potentially help you out here.

I wasn’t just talking about just the bugs by the way. I also mentioned intrinsic design flaws that could and should be fixed. Like the Shadow Pan daily quest followers… Or a quest I just did where, because I joined a dungeon before completing, the follower (that is needed to complete the quest) was no where to be found… So I abandoned it (losing my progress) , and picked it up again just to find out that I simply relogging fixed the issue…

For every follower quest, you either go back to where you picked up the quest and talk to them again, or you get an item to summon them back.

No that didn’t work. the only known fix to resummon this quest follower is to relog. I looked it up. And i exhausted every possibility before that. Just an example of a 5 minute quest turning into a 20 minute one…

Cata was an absolute buggy mess. Idk where he is getting smooth launch from. It wasn’t even that long ago.

I got it from my experience and the experience of everyone else I play with. Like I said… the prepatch was a buggy mess. The launch was clean. I was able to quest with virtually zero bugs.

If you aren’t going to say what the quest(s) were, then no one can help you. :woman_shrugging:

I’m leveling my 4th alt through Pandaria right now. I’ve done every quest in all the zones, and the only issue I’ve seen that comes close to anything you’re describing are Li Li’s and Mudmug’s follower quests in the Valley. Li Li has a stone that summons her when you get too far away, and Mudmug goes back to the little roadside stand where you picked up his quest. In both of those instances they only disappear if you 1. Go into a dungeon/leave the zone, or 2. Run too far ahead while they’re talking/RPing.

Just giving a vague “I just did a quest that bugged” instead of specific quest names when you’re the only person who seems to be complaining about these “constant” issues makes it seem more like user error than the actual issues with the game.
