Recently hit 90 and been running dungeons, for scourgestones for the 502 gear when phase 5 comes will this be the best way to level up my ilvl? So I can run sog? Current ilvl is 482 thank you all.
When phase 5 releases there will be new Celestial gear/tokens that provide ilvl 528 gear. I imagine most groups (but not all) will likely be looking at 528 being the mminimum for invite.
I’d advise you google the legendary cloak quest chain and get caught up on that. Its an essential piece for SoO raiding.

Prioritize completing legendary chain, new celestials will open like a week or two after siege opens at the latest and it will give ilvl 528 gear.

May I ask is the quest chain quick, or a couple week grind?
Depends on how much time you have and how many groups can find. Earlier during ToT, when I dinged a fresh 90 it took me about 5 days of pure celestials spamming to get the cloak.
Its a bit if a grind but it is 100% worth it.
The cloak ends up as your bis and is a massive ilvl jump.
To compare the current version of the cloak isn’t even the final form of it and it is ilvl 600+. It is such a massive upgrade even compared to tot heroic cloaks that it is almost like equipting a second piece of gear in that slot.
And while you farm for it you can get passive loot drops to upgrade the rest of your gear to 502.
Idk? It takes like, 2-3 days of cele spamming to fully gear but a little bit longer to complete the quest chain unless you throw all your fragments at it. Though, it also took me a week when I geared my 3rd warrior because I was just doing 1 cele a day on each of the warriors and mailing fragments over.
Timeless isle will give FREE 495 gear from chests all around the island. Those pieces can be upgraded to 535 from what I’ve read.

I wouldn’t even do that. Next tuesday celestials open with 528 soo gear
We have no confirmation that celestials open with the release of the raid/patch. Has never been the case before.

Legendary questline can be done almost exclusively through celestials (as well as gearing to 528). Currency from celestials can be exchanged for the legendary quest items in lieu of raiding the old raids (no one really does anymore). Time to complete varies based on quest item drop rate, time it takes you to do the rep, and how you use your celestial currency. Beyond that Phase 5 gives Timeless Isle content for coins that can be turned in for gear tokens (for more coins you can upgrade most of the gear to 535). Timeless also has world bosses for loot.
I got an item on timeless isle that let me upgrade a 496 item to 535 with 2 available upgrades, so i guess that’s also an option.
