Idk if it’s just me but haven’t seen really much hype for MoP or am I missing something? Hopefully it’s not a bust
There’s plenty of hype, it’s just not in the game or on the forums because there’s not much left to talk about and most people are too tired of Cata to be playing it
From Wrath to Cata, we lost about 4 people.
From Cata to MoP, we are not losing a single person from our roster.
We are all so tired of Cata at this point. We clear our 8/8 in about 2 hours now and all log off until next Tuesday.
We’ve farmed up around 300 or 400k gold for the guild and it’s enough for future feasts and flasks/cauldrons.
There’s a fair bit on youtube about getting ready for mop. I do think we’ll really start seeing the hype around prepatch. That’s also when a bunch of guilds start recruiting for the new expansion so I’m guessing everything will kick into high gear soon.
is it cuz asmongold doesnt play wow anymore?
Id argue that has nothing to do with it. Asmongold at least since like the shadowlands era would play a patch for a few weeks then stop playing, so not actively playing at all. The main people he brought to the game were people who just wanted to follow him in game.
I’m hyped for it, the early nerf of DS shortened the lifespan of it for me
I think a big reason there hasn’t been massive amounts of hype is just lack of communication from blizzard, a lot of players have been asking about what their plans are for server populations for months. Instead of merging low pop servers into medium pops they decided to slap a 30% discount on paid characters services. Kinda kills the hype when you spend all of wotlk/cata building up your gold just to get hit with a 50k transfer limit.
I’m seeing a lot of moderate hype in a ton of different places. I think it’ll be a hit that the haters pretend flopped because nobody is screaming from the rooftops about it.
We all know what to expect now. It’s not like (The massively overhyped expansion) WotLK getting new dungeon difficulties for the first time and it’s not as fresh as TBC was so it’s understandable the hype is more muted.
Because it’s a mediocre expansion that Blizzard made to appease the growing Chinese market in WoW. Legion was the best one after wrath. Cata and MoP were okay, WoD and shadowlands sucked.
Maybe I missed it, but did they really not even mention LFR in the announcement blog? That’s not good. Hype for MoP sits at 0 right now.
Only reason WOD was considered a bad xpac is because the lack of content, they had to cut an entire raid tier, multiple zones, etc. I think if they made WOD classic and actually put the cut content in, it would be pretty good. The only other thing I disliked was the fact that Grommash wasn’t the final boss.
Pretty sure it is not gonna get added, they are gonna continue to use the “insert name here” dungeons to provide people with LFR gear.
Uh yeah it was extremely hollow after the leveling experience. That and they over-pruned a lot of class abilities. People sat in their garrison’s playing the mobile follower game racking up tons of gold.
Yeah, there isn’t gonna be much to do when they cut out major content due to rushing.
Mop is usually rated as one of the best expansions whenever a poll is done about people’s favorites. I do believe legion tends to beat it out, but I would never consider mop as mediocre.
It’s also looked on as the best time for pvp.
Please don’t enable them. Looking at their post history, they’re just butthurt that Pandaria is prepping for launch at the same time SoD is ending
SOD players should be happy that it lasted this long, they said in their post that Kara crypts/Naxx were gonna be the end but they added Scarlet Enclave anyway.
Honestly it still baffles me that it did. I even gave it multiple tries throughout most of the phases so let no one say I never gave it a fair shot, and beyond the initial “oh wow most of the specs that were trolling to play in Vanilla are actually viable now” it really didn’t impress
Then again it also probably didn’t help matters that it seemed impossible to find any raiders that actually knew what they were doing. Maybe that’s on me for not recognizing it early on with all of the “BFD is harder than retail!!!11” screaming
I played from start of SOD to BWL, it was fine for the most part but stuff like the incursions beating out leveling groups, ruining the economy, them nerfing ST within the first lockout, then all of the early lvl 60 raids just being season of mastery mechanics was not fun or exciting lol
