Google shows gold cap at 9.99M but I can’t seem to hold over 999,999 on my toon at once. What is the actual cap? Can you use a guild bank, personal bank, and your toon to store? Thanks

In Mists of Pandaria, the gold cap per character is 999,999g 99s 99c.
The cap got increased to 9,999,999g 99s 99c in the Legion expansion. You were looking up the Retail gold cap.
7.0.3 Patch Notes:
The maximum amount of gold that can be held at once has been increased to 9,999,999 gold. Guild bank maximum has also been increased to 9,999,99 gold.
