Which patch are they going to use for MoP classic? Cata they did 4.4.2 whole xpac. 5.0.4 is fun! 5.4 sucked with balancing and all that. 5.2/5.3 are best balanced IMO. What y’all think?
5.4 100%.
They’ve used the final balance patch for every expansion so far, there’s no reason to assume they’ll change their minds for Pandaria
I’ve heard people say good things about 5.3 but I’m in pretty much no doubt we’ll start in 5.4
It’ll be the final patch (5.4) but since it’s Classic it’ll read as 5.5.
they will 100% use the last patch of mop. It’s much easier for them to do.
It’s unfortunate but the last patch.
MoP had really good transitions and since this SHOULD be the last version of classic (aka no wod) it would make a lot more sense to take it slow and go patch by patch.
But they don’t really care unfortunately
Patch 5.5.0 will be MoP Classic (already live on CDN - Vendor 1: 5.5.0.59941 [encrypted]). It is based on MoP’s original 5.4.8.
Hope it helps.
it wont be the last version. People want WoD just like they wanted Cata. People want Legion as well.
If it’s like literally every other version of classic, it will be 5.4 class balance.
Which makes sense, the WoD raids were all bangers.
Since they have no interest on making MOP as fun as it was: 5.4
I remember that every patch brought something fun to most classes, and 5.4 just kind of tuned everything down a bit.
except warlocks
People seem to forget why WoD isn’t looked on fondly. The content it had was all really good, its issues were too much of a focus on garrisons and a lack of content, namely an entire patch cycle axed from the game
The faster release cadence of Classic as a whole will greatly benefit WoD
Nobody wants WoD.
People want to skip WoD and go to legion… But youre probably right.
Theyll do the WoD deluxe pass, theyll sell a million copies of it and make $80M off WoD classic justifying the entire thing.
They are already doing Legion Remix very shortly… which i know isnt the same as Legion classic… but its close enough.
And resto shamans. Resto was booty until seige
Speak for yourself. As a causal i loved my garrison! My wife is on her first time playing WoW and she gonna love it too.
Awesome. Congrats on being the one.
I skipped most of WoD the first time around. I actually started thinking it might be…interesting.
Even if Garrisons were a terrible idea, the follower missions are idiotic, it would be something I only barely experienced.
And I do have some vague fond memories of Tanaan.
No tf they don’t lol.
Cata is infinite light-years better than WoD.
That’s more like it. I’m not opposed to Legion because it is a guilty pleasure personally. However, probably won’t get it and I’m fine with that. I have my own way of playing Legion that I can’t say here, but many others can also do the same if they really want to play it enough. The reality is, MoP was the last xpac of the Classic era, not wotlk as some people say because “Waaahhhh CaTa ReVaMpEd ThE wOrLd tHoUgH.” Nah. WoD was truly the beginning of the current retail wow era that its in right now when it introduced the first stat squish, class toolkit gutting and overall skillcap deflating. New character models. Etc. That made it no longer classic. So the people who want WoD, they can just stay on retail, as its just the same thing but objectively better in many ways.
So MoP was the last classic xpac, and it just makes more sense to stop at MoP and then maybe do refreshes from wotlk or cata, or maybe make separate servers for each expansion that way people still have plenty of expansions to play and not feel forced to play one they might not like. To compensate for how this could split the population… Honestly, hot-take but not really, shut down hardcore & especially SoD and give those players options to transfer characters to whatever expansion they want for free
WoD is in a weird spot. I think what people most want from Classic progressive is good and healthy raids and on that front WoD is delivers. It has very iconic raids.
Nah I would say WoD is better than Cata, at least in a Classic re-release. Both were terrible in the original run, both have no content outside of raiding but WoD had better raids and took all the good systems from MoP.
Indeed. That’s how I saw it back in the days and I’m still going with it. Up until MoP it was just a steady stream of changes. Starting with WoD, and even more so Legion, they changed the game for a new gen that focuses on raids and m+ only. Everything else was irrelevant.
