Moon Guard Council (Not Leadership) - Spin off from "Server Lore" Topic

Will you marry me?

No no no
till death do us part does not mean tossing your spouse into the maw for me to clean up. Keep it in the Void please.

Hey! What happens between a Void priestess and her Lich crush has nothing to do with you!

Far as I can recall, I don’t think there’s been a project or community that attempted to run democratically. I think something like that could be interesting and worth a try. Some of the logistics might be kinda difficult, like for instance, you mention that if people suspected that an election might’ve been fraudulent then the council could be dissolved. Problem is that it would be pretty hard to enforce that.

I’d also say, it would be best to try that as part of a community/project within the server, rather than trying to be all-encompassing for the entire server. Trying to do that with the whole server would just be an even bigger logistical nightmare. Plus, if people aren’t happy with the way the project/community is run, it’d be better if there were other communities/projects in the server that they can just hop over to instead of having to jump servers.

Yeah but if you two mate, your kids will pop out as undead and wind up in oribos. We dont have a baby day care service here. :church:

Some people say their kids end up as little devils when they are young.

Nobody is attacking him.
There is no system being run right now, because “systems” do not work.

crazy to slip this in as equivalent to ‘guns’ and ‘drugs,’ equated to power abuse and trolling in discord chats

First of all, no one is attacking Diavos’ idea, simply pointing out the potential pitfalls of such a system. Some of us have been on this server a long time, and have seen similar attempts, and the inevitable chaos that ensues.

Second, Discord is easily made safe with 2 factor authorization and the reporting function, so not sure where you get that idea. On top of that, you can also set up discord servers to easily control what gets posted.

And third, people using custom guild titles from TRP does not ruin anything. It literally doesn’t affect anyone’s roleplay, for they are just titles they give their characters. So
not sure what you’re trying to white-knight, but you’re kinda falling flat on your face.

Is there a way i can close this

Celares, i am an active gay player and your pissing me off. Just disappear.
Can others please just flag so she disappears.

Secondly, how do i close but not delete this post. I enjoyed both sides and didn’t really read much to be honest. But at this point i want to move on and let the topic die down.

Im ADHD so i get bored very easily after a while and im already thinking of new topics to chat about. Like my Exorcisms post.

I’m referring to the fact that players don’t wish to use discords and be exposed to the extreme sexual nature that is presented in discord in order to find useful information.

And the only way to find likeminded RPers is through discords but in the end its all just a bunch of immature, peverted players. You cant post anything without 10 players saying sexual responses like “my junk” or worse.

I’m referring to everything requiring discord to find out. Why don’t they post on here so we can find events without being exposed to all that excessive nonsense on discord channels? Guilds and event hosting should use this forum so players don’t have to be exposed to the sexual/taboo and aggressive nature that is discord.

Keep it PG not R/NC-17.

Below the option to Share | Bookmark | Flag |Reply there is a Tracking dropdown. Set it to muted if you want to stop seeing updates for it. Unfortunately there is no way to close this Pandora’s Box.

 (Halleluiah) You are a life saver. I wish i knew it sooner. (Halleluiah)

No worries about it being Pandora’s Box. I grew up in Las Vegas. I’ve seen plenty!!!

As the leader of the Stormwind Law Project, I can confirm the Stormwind Law Project is an actively ongoing unfortunate disaster. It’s opt-in though, and the fan-fiction laws we put together should only by role-played out with people who consent to or recognize them for the sake of having a more community-driven experience. Nobody should be trying to control or force RP on anyone.

As for the original proposal, what you describe is already loosely in practice in a patchwork of different community efforts across both WRA and Moon Guard. I feel that having one singular overarching council is not only untenable, but a bad idea, because I feel that multiple independent projects doing the same stuff, be it government role-play, community events, tournaments, laws, whatever - improves the overall experience of everyone in our community. Without friendly competition from exterior groups, a hegemonic “unified server leadership council” would never improve or be pushed to try new things.

you sure do make a lot of assumptions about everyone’s discord. it is obvious you have never been to the discords that actually promote these events or any of the rp discords so that you can troll and let everyone see that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, but please continue this tirade, i am being entertained.

you’re right. someone should take charge, and it should be me. here are my rules

no pandaren
no worgen
no coomers
if i don’t like your character, they’re dead
if i don’t like you, you’re banned
no worgen
no female draenei (you people know what you did)
no void elves except the ones i like

i don’t need help for this, id like to be a calamity that arrives every time i log on.

Truthfully, if there is a desire to see server lore centralized somewhere for others to read and consume as they desire? There is a MG specific wiki for such a thing.

Ultimately, such oversight and a concept is neat in theory but the execution will be problematic at best. Server lore as it stands is opt in, as it should always be.

There are people involved in the communities on the realm, leaders of them even, who keep drama docs, files of screenshots, and have projects of their own which harm the community respond.

Some even use alts or have others around during large community events, such as even ToA, to follow others, get screenshots, and simply watch. Unfortunately bad actors exist in various ways. A massive moon guard community council idea is great without taking into account human interaction and how things change quickly based off of personalities.

The idea of an addon might be nice, though there are plenty who have a hard time there. Plus integration with WoW, adhering to the ToS, etc.

Your best bet if you’re wanting to help might be something like a larger discord meant to help others, various different RP resources and guides, as well as help with PvP and PvE. It depends though.

From my own 15 years experience on this server. Predators hide in big communities. I’ve seen it time and time again. I have seen how community leaders / officers abuse power and bully players. Frankly, most of it is cult of personality and give a small amount of people too much power. You don’t need server wide authority to write enriching and powerful stories.

And, ultimately, I’m against trying to build community wide roleplay rules and blacklists. I’ll always be on team small roleplay projects. Get to know your collective, write amazing stories. You only need a handful of fun and imaginative people.

I googled this.
Then I wish I had not.
