How is this a thing? They jump into the flag room and warp right back to the door with the flag! Run outside and they’re already half way home. I can’t believe the artifact fishing rod was nerfed before this bs.
I do miss cheesing flag BGs with this.
The rage whispers from people who log over after the BG was the icing on the cake.
Monks have been able to do it since Mists of Pandaria.
Warlocks maybe since TBC or WotLK? Not sure when their teleport was added.
Maybe they figured people would expect it by now. You can see where they’re going to go and wait by their spirit if you want.
DHs can leap to 2nd floors. Druids can Wild Charge, rogues can shadowstep.
theyre hardly the best fcs therefore i dont think this warrants removing unique play for non important random bgs
I agree, nerf DHs
Extremely easy to counter. Just park a melee with a stun at their teleport and blow them up when they teleport up.
Sorry you can’t just PvE things down and need to think.
Paladins can bubble and heal themselves through it while Hunters can’t do squat during their immunity.
They can run with a sign on them that says, “Kill Me, Kill Me.”
This is the problem with everything! Thank you for saying this. Does anyone carry a brain in their head at all? It’s amazing.
Monks die EASY. It’s cool that they have a teleport, they only have a few defenses and this is one. Just use your brain and outsmart them.
Bubble and heal themselves through what? If a Paladin uses bubble while carrying a flag he will auto-drop the flag, if that’s what you mean.
It’s not quite that simple when Monks have instant CC, high mobility, and can RoP you off the roof for your efforts. I do find success knocking them off the roof with Steed of Glory though, since I can immune RoP with both Steed of Glory and Divine Shield.
Teleporting doesn’t suddenly make the monk a free kill.
They come out of the port as strong as ever being one of the top PVP classes in the game. They still have their trinket and all their movement CDs.
Lol. This is only a problem vs. idiots. Monks don’t hold flags in Rated.
Yeah, but pretty much an easy WSG win in random BGs when I’m on my monk. Best place to set is on the cliff down the side opposite the ramp.
If you have gear and competence any random BG is going to be easy. You’re facing ppl with like 425 ilvl, dpsing into blood dks getting free healed.
You guys know it take 3 minutes to get to 6 stacks where movement can’t go past 100% right?
So what exactly are you using to justify your contradiction? Random BGs are a poor example.
I think what makes monk teleport different is that it has no LoS requirement, which really catches people by surprise since there’s no visual to indicate the direction they teleported in. Smart use of the ability can also extend the time to intercept significantly (opponent has to go around walls, etc probably unmounted).
I don’t think monks are particularly problematic as flag carriers (I don’t see them doing it terribly often in randoms) but I can see why some my be upset by them.
Personally speaking I think the flag should disable all mobility that isn’t cross-class, mainly to make life easier for random games that match teams with potato-mobility classes against teams with fighter-jet-mobility classes. I know it already restricted movement speed but it isn’t really enough with classes like DH clearing half the field in seconds.
This would be abused way more often and complained about way more often if it was really bad but this is the single odd thread about somebody who is probably bad at the game. There’s nothing wrong with that though.
You actually do see where the monk TPs to through a visual and the fact you can see nameplates through LoS.
Is that a bad thing is it? DHs still do this and can jump out of LoS on the first leap onto a 2nd floor.
There’s a few problems with this.
- Guardians just become the go-to which people are already complaining about.
- Any FC, even a guardian (with extremely good gear) should never make it across the map. Definitely would be lucky to make it halfway in RBGs and then makes Hpallies way more powerful than they already are.
I don’t really do RBGs (never really had the gear and from the outside looking in, the community is intimidating) but in randoms mobility classes getting halfway across the field happens all the time, whether through getting dealt a bad hand with slow class teammates or the enemy team being on point with CCing your team just long enough for the speedy flag runner to do his thing. I don’t quit BGs but I’ve been awfully tempted to when going up against ridiculous teams with combos like 4 DHs, 3 druids, and a monk on CTF maps.
Warlock teleport didn’t have a line of sight requirement either. Not sure if it does now since I haven’t played mine in awhile.
