Yes it’s week 1, but already monks are showing their worth continuing on from S1 and S2. Last in M+ healing representation, second last in DPS and last in tanking.
Oh yeah go monks!
I don’t care with the whole “Everyone is adequate”, or the “Players don’t like monks playstyle” or whatever excuses you all keep making, monks have been perpetually the least used and worst performing class since when, around WoD?
We are not least used because players don’t like monks playstyle, that’s a copout and you know it. I’ve seen every excuse in the book thrown out, fact is something needs to be done, there has never been a time in WoWs history that a single class across all specs is used so little for this amount of time.
We are talking season after season, years, multiple expansions. Monks may be viable, up to a certain key level, but fact is fact, tanking, healing and DPS have better options and classes that are just stronger and perform better.
I care so much about the class I don’t even post on it!
There are monk tanks in the RWF right now on several bosses. The highest key level completed right this very second was done with a monk tank in one group, and a windwalker in the other. It’s been pointed out in the past that the primary reason for this is because of Mystic Touch. It’s a case of ‘bring the class, not the player’ and BrM is the ‘best’ monk spec to bring for that debuff over WW or MW.
That being said, viability only really matters at the top end, but that perception trickles down to the rest of the playerbase who cares about what the best players are doing. To them it doesn’t matter if you can fill your vault just fine with any class/spec; the top groups aren’t using monks, therefore they’re ‘bad’ even for a +2.
I got you. Monks are just fine. Every monk spec has timed 15’s during this first week. Brew is maybe the tankiest tank being used in high keys and world first boss kills. MW still pumps healing in keys and raids while also being the most fun healing spec. WW could probably use some buffs, but they’re still doing better than half of the other dps specs. Monk has been great this expansion.
There aren’t enough players left to represent these underplayed classes. The only people left playing them are RWF people and people who are so bored with the game they’re just looking for something new, like in my case with Evoker.
The majority of players left all gravitate towards certain classes. You would need new players to bring up the representation unless you expect everyone to change their main to Monk for the sole purpose of representation which is laughable.
Monk is definitely not “last in tanking” and it’s really not even close. Monks are one of the better tanks this season or perhaps you just don’t know how to play it…
Ok 1. Brewmasters are 2nd runner up to Vengence DH so, idk what you’re talking about 2. they’re deemed the tankiest of the tank classes right now so where is this information coming from? I main a monk and they’re solid as far as I can see with their stagger being the best it’s been since coming out in Pandaria. I’m literally out healing the healers I’m with and hardly needing direct heals at all. If you’re dying and getting slugged on it chances are you have no idea how or when to use or clear your stagger correctly.
