I wanted to level a monk once they open up so I’m trying to get heirlooms set up but I’m not sure which heirloom weapons to get for brewmaster.
I’ve done some googling and it sounds like WW is obviously dual wield but is brewmaster fine to use dual wielding as well for leveling or do they need to have a 2h? I only started playing monk in dragonflight so I’m not sure if weapons are just stat sticks for monk in MoP or if they have actual weapon required skills.
Since there isn’t an agi staff or polearm heirloom if brew needs a 2h to use all their kit I guess I’ll grind for the int heirlooms so I can offspec as mw in dungeons.
Dual Wielding is actually considered “better” in most situations as Brewmaster and Windwalker.

Oh that’s good to hear! I’ll pick up the 1h heirlooms then thanks!
The benefit of dual wielding is that you get two weapon enchants instead of just one. Otherwise they’re pretty much interchangeable based on whichever just gives you more stats
2h is better for tanking, dw is better for dps .
Leveling wise then usually having higher dps is the way to go for brewmaster and windwalker. I would however switch to 2h once you hit harder endgame content.
Another bonus of dw is that you can enchant both weapons.
So I would personally dw the heirlooms since they are mostly for leveling.

The monk nerds have already crunched the numbers, and they are THOROUGH in what they do. DW is apparently the best way to go. Go to the monk classic discord and ask them for the numbers they will actually provide them.
Actually DW is better for tanking, but as far as I can find the difference is pretty close so a higher ilevel 2H will still be useful
Okay I will admit my only sources are pretty old so it’s definitely possible that the theorycrafters have found something else out.
I will say that even with old advice than dw was the way to go with heirlooms as it was considered better for leveling. It will be interesting to see what exactly people are bringing to raids.
while dual wielding the agility maces will be the way to go, you won’t actually get to dual wield until level 10 so if you have spare JP it may be worth it to just buy the agility staff since that will be better than just 1 mace.
I wasn’t seeing an agility staff on the jp vendor, maybe I’m just blind. The only agi 2h I was seeing was a 2h mace.
I’m probably wrong but I think the agi mace is bought with emblems or something like that
There isn’t one yet, but Pandaria adds one (so we’ll probably see it in prepatch)

There is an agility sword you can also buy that can be used by monks. I believe that one is with justice points.
I was referencing the 2h agi mace
I didn’t say they could, I said I think the agi mace is bought with emblems and not justice.
It can bought with both. Most Wrath heirlooms can. Why even bring it up?
Why do you keep replying to me if you’re that annoyed
??? I’m just correcting you on your misinformation
what agility staff, there is no Heirloom agility staff unless im missing something
