Monk design is better in WoD

The fact that I have to be in Stance of the Sturdy ox to use all my Brewmaster abilities basically ruins the class for leveling content.

I would say I’m glad they got rid of it, but I actually think they should have kept the stance, just not make any abilities tied to the stances.

Why would you not be in it anyway? It’s what enables you to pull an entire zone at once and take no damage

for the increased damage and movement speed, obviously.

Both of which are pointless because you’re trading the ability to pull the entire zone and survive, and the movement speed doesn’t stack with Roll and Tiger’s Lust, which is more than you’ll ever need to get in range to pull everything with Crackling Jade Lightning or Dizzying Haze

Well that just sounds awful. If I wanted gameplay like that I would play diablo.

Lol? You’re literally playing the tank spec and you don’t want to play like a tank. Just reroll Windwalker then

But I like to keg smash. I like the theme of a drunken dwarven monk.

in WoD keg smash was given an AOE limit (basically turned into a cleave)…which seems like a win for WoD class design.

Stance of the Sturdy Ox is better in every regard for Brewmaster. You want to actively make yourself perform worse just so you don’t have to press one button

More overpowered =/= better.

Cool, there’s nothing overpowered about it. It’s a tank stance. It’s what enables you to do the role your spec is designed for

Wouldn’t it make more sense for the Brewmaster to be in tiger stance when doing solo content?

When I saw the mechanic I was like “oh this is perfect, this is brilliant.” but they ruined it by forcing me to be in drunken stance for all my abilities.

No, because you’re a Brewmaster, not a Windwalker

I mean. It wasn’t optimal for a prot warrior to sit in defensive stance…

Unless you’re actually tanking idk why would need your tanking abilities. Would rather just have 10% more damage on my keg smash (if I could)

You got any opinion on the stances?

I prefer wise serpent when I dps

Dual spec is in the game
just fyi

It’s been optimal for prot warrior to sit in defensive stance since tbc came out. Not sure what you’re going for here. Even then vanilla prot warrior only situationally changed stances for fear break.

Also, brew is amazing rn, great fun. Not sure why you’d want to give up 25% passive dr, 20% pseudo-dr with stagger (before mastery) and being uncrittable for squints moving slightly faster?

Fist of fury has unbreakable stun in MoP, Monk in MoP is superior to any other version of monk since

I think I liked mistweaver a lot better in MoP than WoD but I barely played WoD outside of garrison gold farming. If I remember correctly, WoD split MW abilities into two stances so you had to swap stances to fistweave vs. cast where in MoP you can seamlessly move between playstyles mid-combat without changing stances.

I have no idea how brew changed in WoD but I think I’d prefer to be in ox stance anyway.
