Modifiers don't work in War Within beta (Razer accessory)

I’m unfortunately having the same problem here. I noticed my rotation wasn’t going as planned and saw that the modifiers were not working.

I hope the WoW team can find a quick fix for this. I legit feel handicapped not being able to use shift. :sob:

I used to use a terminal fix when new installations of the game had to be done (and sometimes with major updates, and that always seemed to work for me… until now.

Nothing I’ve tried has worked and even though a few people have said that it seems to be working now that 11.0 is in retail wow, it isn’t working for me.

Anyone have any other ideas I can try?

I’ve tried disabling OS shortcuts and not disabling OS Shortcuts and it makes no difference.

I have the most recent version of macOS Sonoma and I’m on a M1 Max.

To be clear… this is only with my Razer Naga Pro. The keybindings work fine when you are physically typing on the keyboard… but since I have such huge muscle memory built up for using shift to modify the number keys on the mouse for my 2nd Action bar, this is debilitating.

I think we just need to let the team fix up the game as there seems to be a ton of things not working as expected today.

Prayers go out to the WoW team. I can only imagine what they go through.

same issue for me on a M3 MBP on Sonoma 14.5 in live WoW. Addons disabled don’t make a difference. Shift and Control as modifiers when only using the keyboard work fine, Its just when trying to use my Naga Pro mouse side numbers (1-12) and shift/control do not work. None of the suggestions work this time.

Previously using terminal with the following command worked
defaults write com.blizzard.worldofwarcraft disable-expose-fix -bool YES

This did not resolve the issue either.
System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility > allowing World of Warcraft

seeing the same thing. Worked before 11.0, not working since.

the number of times i have accidentally quit wow today with CMD-Q…
because that was one of my keybinds :frowning:

They rolled this out too early it seems. If you are new to this thread note it was a lot worse for me previously and only got patched last week in beta. Although known there hasn’t been a lot of time spent testing the update that fixed it and they pushed it live now a week later.

Beta wasn’t even booting on Mac the week before.

I am sure unfortunate as it is, us Mac users are not really a priority lol.

I also wanted to add that I can no longer use modifier keys with my Naga. Pervious fix doesn’t work.

Same issue. The previous way to fix this was running defaults write com.blizzard.worldofwarcraft disable-expose-fix -bool YES but that doesn’t work any longer. M1 mac studio

any know if shift/ctrl modifiers work with the similar Corsair MMO mouse or are all MMO mice affected?

for those who have their modifiers working with their Razer mouse now, was it just the systems settings change that worked?
It didn’t for me on my M3
System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility > toggle on allowing World of Warcraft

I’m posting this in every related thread, but I’ve found a workaround. It does involve installing software, but it’s well-known, free, and very simple. You just download karabinder elements, and remap the mouse keys to keyboard number keys.

Once you install it and give it the permissions it asks for, click on “simple modifications”, your Razer Naga (or wtv mouse you have), and then bind number keys to number keys. It should look like this in the end: “imgur dot com /a/gRKbmmj” (sorry, can’t post links)

What this does, is makes WoW think that when you’re pressing the mouse buttons, you’re actually pressing the keyboard buttons, which work fine with modifier keys. I’m on MacOS 12.4 Monterey btw.

Same here. It was working before patch now the shift modifier key does NOT work anymore despite opening terminal and inputting your command.

Not just razer accessories, unable to assign or use any shift modifiers currently on mouse and keyboard.

I’m able to use modifiers if I use the number and modifier on my keyboard only. I’m having issues with both Shift and Control when trying to use them with the numbers on my Razer Naga Pro

will there be an update coming to fix the modifier key/mouse buttons not working? this was going on in beta for a while, and has now transferred to live.

I also have Logitech’s version of the Naga I will test when I get home as well. Stand by.

I’m having this issue too. I don’t think it’s just a Naga issue…

Same issue, since 24 keys is bearly enough to play any class in WoW the game is basically unplayable for me until this is fixed.
