MMR - are the devs really happy with it?

Then play right now and find out how actively played it is!

Do you…think I’m not gonna get pops or something

like where are we trying to go with this

And funny side node. Even though, SL season 4 was so much more dead from your point of view, there was way more inflation back then!

Was meant in terms of playing with tool mates. The duration you sit in tool is enormous and when you queue, it takes a while and you will always face the same teams.

Elite 3s was like top 800 towards the end of the season.

In SL season 4 there have been ~40 R1 spots in NA, in DF season 3 we have 202. Means 5 times the player base?!

Right now we have 432 players on 2700+ in 3s, in SL season 4 it has been 219 players on 2700+.

So even though we have 5 times the players that have been playing during the season we only have double the amount of players on 2700+ rating?

And you still don’t get my point about mmr inflation?!

They changed how titles work in Crimson.

To a degree that usually only 80 spots would get the r1 and now its 202? Because if not, it stands the same.

Am I being memed

Do we know how titles work

No, your statements are being questioned. You act like

All fine, no issue here. Great participation because the game is not as dead as SL s4 was.

Even though, there are not even twice the amount of players on 2700+ compared to SL season 4.

From my knowing, it is top 0.1% but capped to one title per account, so spots are handed over.

Please correct me if wrong.

Eternal actually was, like, truly dead, and Draconic is likely gonna be the same.

Verdant wasn’t really out of line with what should be expected, though.

Maybe my expectations are to high, but I would expect the company to make progression in terms of participation, not keeping status quo.

Personally I felt like season 3 of SL was already dead but we had nearly 3 times the players on 2700+ in 3s compared to now!

Despite destro/frost/hpriest and abom limbs best efforts it wasn’t

So it is already dead right now, even if it hasn’t reached the absolute minimum of S4 in SL yet.

Why do we even continue to argue. Well all know that mmr is messed up right now, mostly because of participation! And low participation is, among other things, a result of the missing mmr inflation.

It isn’t, though, but I guess it was early-mid season.

Do we? :dracthyr_tea:

I get where you’re coming from man, but I really don’t think it’s all that screwed up. The ladder feels the way it does as a result of the player base just not caring to queue up. Even the active ones clearly stop playing after they hit their reward threshold (look at the sheer number of players that are just sitting within one game’s worth of cr above 2100 in 2v2).

If the game was super fun and enjoyable, people would play. Instead people play for their reward and log out. No amount of fake mmr will make people play beyond their reward cutoff if the game is unenjoyable. Add in the fact cata classic coming, TWW on the horizon with bgb release, no new content for pvp in “fated season” and arena future looking super bleak.

Most do, when SL S3, which was already dead compared to previous seasons, still had nearly 3 times the amount of players on 2700+.

Why do we keep going back to this

Without an objective means of comparison, everything is just a subjective impression. So I compare seasons which each other. In terms of mmr, DF s3 is just a tiny bit better than SL S4 but still a lot more worse than SL S3.

And the last two SL seasons have been the least played seasons so far. I though we want to get away from that? Want more and not less participation!

Did we play the same Eternal

I think MMR is fine. I think the issues with arena are related to reward structure, dilution of the player base and slow response to broken or underpowered classes.

I will more than likely not get Elite this season, although I’ve been trying really hard. I’m a duelist player by virtue. It’s not MMRs fault, I simply can’t compete with the population. Frankly, I’m starting to realize (albeit slowly) that arena as a whole has passed me by at this point. I may try next season depending on my personal life availability and situation. But I think MMR has diverted the attention away with the real issues that surround arena or is a convenient excuse for lack of ability.
