I use Logitech M705 and Logitech K270 on 4 systems, they last indefinitely. I don’t have hand sweat or crud problems, and I am very gentle with things. Good products last indefinitely for me, I have 4 Xbox 360 controllers that all look new like the day I got them even though I have probably 30k hours on them combined. That being said, I’ve had 10 Razer products fail on me catastrophically. They are a horrifically terrible company, they have switches designed to die at certain press counts.
Yup, lost 2 Razer Nagas and never looked back.
I use Logitech M650+K650, they last a loooong time too, and like I said above, I can’t live without silent clicking anymore. It’s a life changer.
I had 2 DeathAdders and 8 Nagas all have catastrophic failures at similar intervals. 4 of the Nagas were warranty replacements.
I checked out that mouse you listed …do you know that its a Viper Mini and is $21 dollars more then a normal Viper mouse…that is so dang flipping wrong now…to charge more for smaller…
I have been using the same razer naga mouse for like 8 years
My 2009 razer naga lasted until 2022, the cord ended up being frayed. so i bought another one lol
Used to use those, but the num pad internally breaks off after a year or two so I moved to a similar logitech, which so far seems to be working well.
That’s ridiculous. I didn’t even notice.
Are there actually people that can use all 12 buttons on the side of these mice comfortably? First 6 I can reach fine, but my thumb just can’t reach the back half without having to move my hand back. I’m thinking of just getting a mouse with 6 well placed buttons since that is all I can currently keybind at the moment.
I have been using a Logitech G502 for at least 15 years now. I am on my second one. Not because the first wore out, but because one of my cats chewed the cord. I like them because they are small enough to fit my hand, and have a bit of weight to them for stability.
I do wash my hands and keep the cats off the keyboard/mouse as best I can though! It sort of helps. I mostly wear through buttons on things. The mouse covering where my thumb rests is worn through and the forward/back side buttons have grooves worn in them.
Works great though! I will be rather sad if I can’t replace it when this one eventually dies. I assume sometime that has to happen.
I’ve not had any problems with reach on my thumb. I use 1-9 for abilities and 10-12 for mounts. While the mount buttons aren’t used as frequently, I don’t need to move my hand to hit them. I rebind my thumb keys to the Numpad though, so they’re bonus binds essentially.
Next thing I’m looking into is an Azeron keypad for the left hand.
Oddly enough, this appears to be a bug / problem with longevity in most mice I’ve encountered. I think the only one I don’t hear about breaking often is on the G600 from Logitech. That being said, I’ve never used one and have stuck with my Corsair Scimitar for years.
I’ve been playing since just before Cataclysm went live. Use to play a lot, hours on end, and found that the Razer Naga 12 key mouse works well. I’ve had to replace it twice however, for someone like me that has the eye-hand coordination/speed of a turtle, it is worth the $. When I was playing daily I always had a spare on hand…
