MM hunters have ruined bgs

Thanks, and it depends on the type of video. If I am doing something that is just mainly for an entertainment style montage, I don’t typically put deaths. But, if I’m doing something more educational with commentary I will put deaths. Because you can learn from your deaths.

I’ve done so many times, but I’m not going to post them all. So, here is just one example.

Oh I’ve seen more of your videos than I care to admit. If I were to post my greatest kills I could paint a narrative that most classes are OP. If I were to record my last game played and post it, then you would think Hunters needed a buff.

Point taken. Full BGs are better for context. We have some, but full BG videos don’t often get much traction with today’s conditioned short attention spans.

Yeah, I can press 2 buttons on ele and 100-0 someone. Damage is fun this xpac.

Sure, but to have a bad game on hunter usually involves fighting a premade with strong healers with frontline melee that push into your backline.

But, even in a bad game like that hunter should have more KBs than deaths. Other ranged are just going to have a totally miserable time of it.

We need a fix before the new rated mode goes live. MMs damage needs to be redistributed or at the very least, make it more conditional instead of all insta burst on demand with a 50+ yard range lol.

The most Noob-Friendly spec has been Paladin as far back as I remember. Huge burst, long stun, best defensives in the game, reactive CC breaks.

Little strategic planning needed. Just hit button and get reward.

(There’s obviously a whole different ceiling for Ret once you add in utility and knowing when you can’t overextend. But if you wanted an easy 1800 or to just feel self-sufficient in random BGs, play Ret.)

It’s just that MM is the most noob-friendly glass cannon because their increased range and lack of spell casting makes their damage hard to shut down

I didn’t post the short to show off skill. I posted it because it is absurd. The whole point of complaints like this is that the game needs less of this and to incentivize more skill based gameplay. I have clips of massively outplaying glad rank healers/dps with traps and other utility, but 95% of the time it’s just not necessary cause the damage is too high, and not just MM damage, it’s just the safest and most consistent to do.

50+ yards? More like…

Tying range to mastery was a very, very dumb move.

The dumber thing is that if you’re a newer player or don’t read all your tooltips you’d think mastery scales badly on MM hunter cause you can only hit 25-30% from stacking all gear, but it’s a actually a 65%+ damage bonus.

Is that on the PTR?

No, that is live. I actually took it yesterday for a stacked mastery gear guide. That is with sniper shot, heavy mastery and a mastery proc from gear. It’s fully explained in this video. Not suggested for arena (which I suspect you already know since you have SS exp), but pretty good for random BGs where it is easier to get the damage off since you are under less pressure.

How much mastery would a hunter need to shoot someone from the lumber mill flag, to the bottom of the cliff, by the river lake pond stream thing?

Not sure. Of course, you can’t open with the proc but with the base mastery alone with sniper shot you have quite the reach. The proc just makes it extremely difficult for people to OOR the damage once it starts.

I would love so much to see a hunter kill someone traveling from stables to farm, from lm

I think it should be possible if they run close enough to the bottom of the cliff. Thing is, when I’m at LM I never stand at the edge of the cliff.

can’t wait to have all the mastery with 489 gear.

Maybe we will be able to break 80 yards! :stuck_out_tongue:

Of course, that would have to be late season for all the crafted gear that would be necessary.

I’ve shot people from the road above GM if they are close enough to the cliff. It doesn’t quite make it to the flag though.
