Missing Hunter Pets after Absence

I had over six Stable pages of pets. Tons of named ones. I went all over the place gathering them. Just returned to the game after an absence and almost all pets are gone? All named ones - gone! I have several 'Cat", a 'Bear', etc. What happened to all my pets?!

I only have one account and have always been a BM Hunter...

Are you logging into the correct character/account?

Do you use addons? You might need to perform a UI reset if one of them is wreaking havoc: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/7549

I am seeing 20 in your list on this character, 16 of which are stabled.

I see those, but when my subscription lapsed, my Stable was completely full - to the point that if I wanted to tame something new, I had to get rid of something else first. Some of the missing ones were spirit beasts and exotic beasts, some were named. I was big on unique or unusual pets. :/

I've only ever had the one account and Olga is the only Hunter I played seriously. (I only have one other Hunter above level 20 and I didn't collect much in the way of pets with him.)

I only have a couple addons like Tom-Tom, but I can try a UI reset to see if it makes any difference...

How long have you been gone? The Stable has had a couple of size increases over the last few expansions. So if you didn't have room before those changes, you would now.

There are currently 60 slots in the Stable and of course, the 5 max slots available via Call Pet.

I had up to Legion on the account. (Recently got BfA.)

Yes, all accounts have up to Legion now (as it is included in the base game). Did you add Legion while it was current OR did you come back from before it was and found it as part of the base game?

I only ask in relevance to my previous post concerning the extra space in your Stable.

I honestly can't remember if the last one I bought was Legion or WoD...

Game masters can restore hunter pets if they were deleted. I had them restore a pet recently that I deleted before Legion. I have no idea how far back it does, but that was a really long time.

I didn't see any deletions, however.

I like to add same thing happen to me. On him and one other hunter. I was gone about a year. No biggie except of the one. I cant get it anymore because zone he was in gone. That was the grey lion with black feet.

Humar The Pridelord. is the one I had. not sure if change name. dang took awhile to find him. he was a rare behind that tuaren village along with that weird yellow/green snake thing.

Ahh, he shares the same skin as Pitch (Sholazar Basin) & The Dark Prowler (Hillsbrad Foothills).

Humar is black, not gray, and you can still get him. I see him on a regular basis. He wasn't near a Tauren village. He was in Barrens. The zone still exists, and so does Humar.

I have no idea what yellow/green "snake thing" you're talking about.

I will also say that I've been collecting pets since this game came out. I have a hunter of every race and they have full stables of rare and challenge pets. I have hundreds of pets in total. I have never, in 14 years, had a pet randomly go missing from my stable. There was a time in vanilla when pets would run away if you didn't feed them, but that mechanic hasn't been in the game for over a decade.
