Missing gold

Has anyone since shadowlands released experienced missing gold?

I’ve placed a ticket 3 days ago but the average response time keeps fluctuating from 13 days to 7 days, although I fully understand with a new expansions release, tickets will flood.

I’m missing an absurd amount (about 95k) and this occurred shortly after selling an item for 97k in the auction house. Bought two items (roughly around 500g and 800g) and logged in the next day to find it all gone. No trace of foul play/hacked, didn’t place it or trade it to anyone or anywhere, didn’t accidentally buy an item (as the values of my recent purchases were nowhere near the missing numerical value of gold), not in a guild, don’t share password, not an addon display issue, it’s just gone. Wondering if it’s any bug that someone’s had since release of shadowlands?

Sounds like you sold the item on the AH for a lot less than 97k. That happens quite often and then we see reports such as yours about losing gold when they didn’t actually. The only other option I could think it might be is the person who purchased the item from you bought the gold from an illegal site and the gold was removed from the game due to being stolen in the first place.

No I was certain that I definitely sold the item for 97k. It was listed for 103k but virtual taxes from the ah returned 97,000 and showed me at over 100k in my bags. Now I thought hard about that second theory as well being a possibility but what about my item? It was never returned to me if that is the case.

The item wouldn’t be returned to you as it was purchased on the AH with stolen gold.

Would this be something that could be resolved in a ticket? I shouldn’t be punished because someone else decided to buy an item with stolen gold. It was an ilvl 190 BOE and I even undercut the AH by a few K.

If anything maybe a blue poster might be able to chime in here.

To be clear, we generally try not to penalize folks who are otherwise not doing anything wrong or unsupported. In most of those situations, we try to return the item and/or gold if the other part of a supported transaction (i.e. Auction House).

I don’t see any indication that gold was purposefully removed by us or our hacks team.

Washrag, please keep your ticket open. Something odd is definitely up with your issue. We’ll want to delve into the log lines from that time to see what may have happened.
