Missing characters,Missing Mounts, Missing Rep and Achievements

Hey y’all, I haven’t played wow since legion. Been a few years. I had a demon hunter, Druid and hunter at 110 before squish. And I had all of broken isles complete and rep was up there for back when you needed rep to unlock allied races. Many many mounts are missing and rep and achievements. It’s showing that I haven’t completed it. I log on and my hunter is 35. My Druid was 24 and my demon hunter was completely gone. It’s like blizzard loaded a very old save from back in pandaria and saved it to that point. Lol idk how to put it but blizzard set me back very very far and I really don’t want to redo and grind all those mounts, quests, achievements and make a new demon hunter all over again. Can someone help me?

Since it has been that long since you played, you may need to log into ALL your characters in order to get all your pets/mounts/transmogs back.
There was also a level squish with this xpac, ie. level 120 became level 50 and 60 became the new max level.
If you played on multiple realms and don’t remember them all, you could try asking where they are and a blue might be around to help out.

My main characters were on one realm. My hunter was 120 now it’s 38. My Druid was 120 now it’s 23. I had a demon hunter that’s 120 that is no longer on my list. A lot of mounts that I spent hours of my time trying to get are no longer unlocked. My hunter tamed pets I had are gone.also battle pets. It’s like they have my account loaded back before legion and I’ve played legion. Completed all of broken isles except for rep, I opened a ticket and all they said was the scroll on character list. Make a new character. Check other accounts which this one is the only one I have, and to delete Battle.net cache which I have all done. I’m currently logging into every character like you said and nothing is changing, I feel sick for everything that is lost. I hope they can fix this because so far my return to wow isn’t going so good.

Are you absolutely, positively sure you’re logging into the correct WoW license (check the drop down on the launcher) or even the correct account?

This topic would be better served by Customer Support, as I highly doubt this is some kind of technical issue with the game. You could either edit your original post and move it yourself, or just post about this over in CS. The support agents there can often help with ‘missing’ stuff (characters / items) and explain what’s going on.

This sounds very much to me like incorrectly selected account, though. There was a level squish when BfA ended and Shadowlands began; that would have taken max level characters (120 at the end of BfA) and brought them down to level 50 (just an arbitrary number change - not a ‘de-leveling’). 50 was the new 120 at the time.

Since you state you left in Legion, the max level your characters could have been is 110 (Legion max level). If you had 120s then you definitely played BfA as well (120 was BfA’s max level).

In addition, the characters that you stopped playing in Legion would have been level 45 upon your return. If you indeed played BfA, those characters would have been level 50 upon your return.

A character at level 35 today (your hunter) would have been level 90-91 before the squish. A level 24 (your druid) would have been level 57-59 before the squish. No mounts or pets or anything else were touched during this process, so the level discrepancies are Just more clues that lead me to believe it’s a different / mistaken / secondary account you’re logging into.

Good luck!

I only have one account. Majority of my characters I’ve played are on this account. And sorry I’ve must of been mistaken. 110 is where I quit than, because I’ve never did BoA yet. My mounts have definitely been lost. I know for a fact something happened. My hunter Druid and demon hunter were max level during legion, I know I did all quest line for broken isles with these characters. I’m going to change this to customer support

Real quick, are you sure you’re logging into Retail WoW and not Classic or BC Classic?

Yes I’m logging into right launcher. It’s just like none of my legion progress saved. I don’t know how that could be possible but I had majority of it done around the time I quit.

But, Retail, Classic and BC Classic are all accessed via the same launcher. Check the menus to see which version you’re logging in to. Retail says ‘Shadowlands’ all over it. Classic and BC Classic have, well, Classic and BC Classic all over them.

If you are indeed logging into Shadowlands, then I am sure it’s an account-related issue. Personally I can’t think of any other help to offer, but I am sure other folks here will have ideas. Don’t worry about your stuff being lost; things don’t just disappear, especially entire characters and mount collections.

Good luck.

It’s retail, it says shadowlands, I haven’t even attempted to mess around on classic yet

Alright, cool. Well, I can see Vrakthris replying so you will get the details soon =)

Do you recall the name of the character, Calgrumm? Characters don’t tend to disappear, so if you had a Demon Hunter it should still be there. If it isn’t there, I suspect it is the wrong account.

Even if it were deleted or transferred, I’d still see it. The highest level character I could find on the WoW license on this account is 80, pre-squish. That was a Paladin on Kil’jaedin which is currently level 31.

The only Demon Hunter I can find is the one that you created recently that is currently level 8.

If you have some character names/realms I might be able to see if I can hunt them down.

Ok thanks. Some of my pandaria progress is lost too, I’m missing those cloud serpent mounts. Those direhorn ones, the flying disc mount, it’s like a big portion of my progress is lost. It’s so weird, I’ve been playing off and on since first wow was released and something like this has never happened before

If you have been playing off and on and still use the same computer you may have some old files that could help. If you open up your World of Warcraft directory and go under retail > WTF > Account. That should list which wow licenses you have logged into.

In each of those folders will be a list of which realms you logged into and characters.

Honestly I can’t remember the name of my demon hunter. It’s been like 2-3yrs Like I said before this is my only account. I played legion with my step dad. He has his own account and I’m pretty sure he could vouch for me about my characters being 110 on legion, I’ll look in file folders to check what you just told me

Calgrumm, I don’t need the files, but the files that you see should list the various characters you have logged into on that computer, if you were having trouble recalling the names.

So if you were to click on World of Warcraft > retail > WTF > Account … In the Account folder you may see a folder with the name of your WoW licenses on it. It could be a name or it could be a number like 6424364#1.

Opening that should then show you folders with realm names on it. Those are realms you have logged into on that WoW license. If you open one of those you should see folders with the characters you have logged into.

i found some names argent dawn- Gankstagob Amorsta beefycow bulletproof finessin magictouch pandrosa shazamin termek thelendan anistus

area 52 - Glizzie
zul jin - deadglizzie glizzette glizzie glizzietwo glizzee
stormrage- glizzie shebad risha

Perfect! I found it. Definitely a different Battle.net account. The WoW license is similarly named, but the Battle.net account appears to be under a different first and last name, though the street address matches.

Assuming your name matches what I’m seeing, you’ll likely need to submit a ticket to recover the account.

You’ll select the option "The email address on my Battle.net Account was changed, or I don’t remember what it is. ". That will allow you to submit an ID, you’ll also want to list a few of those characters/realms (I easily found the WoW license when looking up Gankstagob/Argent Dawn).

If you still have access to the email address associated with the account you may not need to go through a contact. Given the nature of the information I can’t just list the email address but I can say it is a @gmail account and it starts with an S and ends with a D.

am i able to xfer characters from that account to this one? neither tho the other one is inactive? or would i have to pay for a subscription just to be able to pay to move characters?

Provided that the names match exactly on the two accounts, yes.

However, mounts/pets/achievements are generally bound to the Battle.net account. So, most of those collections will not transfer to the new account.

You do not need a subscription to transfer characters. Only to play characters that are above level 20.

Since the names do not match I would have to say no. Character transfers can only be done between accounts that have the same registered user. The system simply won’t allow characters to be transferred otherwise.

Further, only the person named on the account should be accessing that account with one exception. That exception being, an adult registered to the account may allow a minor child, that they are the parent or legal guardian of, to access the account.
