Characters missing and now can’t be found

It’s happening to a lot of people at the moment. I was able to get in for a few minutes before the game froze and crashed. It then removed all of my characters from the realms list. Hopefully it fixes overnight 
I’m having the same issue. Logged in this morning was ok but now here to play at 9:00pm est and 20+ characters missing on Thrall and Stormrage.
Additionally, the game opens as if I’m a new player and gives me “New Player” realms to choose from at the top.
This is my only day off this week Blizzard 
Edit: tried to log into another realm and it’s just a black background- can see the pop up message, SL logo, addon button etc. Tried disabling addons and nothing works.
