I recently came back to WoW playing classic but am looking to play the new retail expansion, however upon login I no longer have any of my past retail characters. Were these characters wiped at some point, and is there any way to restore them if so? I had multiple characters but am specifically concerned about my main. I can provide further details as required, but am sure these should be on the same account I am currently using, confirmed against past subscription data.
WoW does not wipe characters (SoM is an exception). If you’ve been gone for some time and your account was hacked, characters could have been moved around. Otherwise, if you have some idea of what realms to look at? If you select those realms on the loading screen, they should populate.
Otherwise another way to go about it - if you are indeed in the right account, you can game the system a bit by going in as if you were going to do a paid service like a Character Un-stuck move. Make sure you’re logged in to said right account, and click here:
Blizzard doesn’t delete your characters. They should be exactly where you left them. Make sure that you’re logging into the right account (if you have more than one).
