Last time I played WoW was in 2018, the realm I was on was Gorefiend one of the original realms which is probably now long forgotten I have always played Alliance and when I logged on excited to check out the new expansion I have only a few characters and all Horde so much for not deleting Characters it that was the case where are my alliance characters?
Did you actually log into the Gorefiend realm to confirm your characters weren’t there? We don’t know the exact time, but after hefty time away from the game the realm select screen will no longer display how many characters are on that realm without logging back in to repopulate it.
If you have, then no-- they do not delete characters. You are simply logging into the wrong game license or Blizzard account.

Your characters whould still be there, their levels may have been squished due to changes in max level with Shadowlands. You may have to change the server list to show alphabetically, log in, and may need to create a new character to get the list to update, but Gorfiend is still there

The game admin said to log into the realms to populate the toons but they have discontinued a lot of the realms and merged them with others so how am I supposed to find them if I have not played for years.
That’s mainly for wlk classic. Most characters were moved to Sulfuras. No retail realms were closed.

Thank you I have found the characters but the guild leader is inactive and the character is invalid due to being offline 6 years and the dethrone option does not work any ideas how to fix this?
There is no way to “fix” it. The Guild Leader purposely set up the permissions to ensure that no one would take over the guild. This cannot be bypassed.
