Missing characters from 2009

So I had a couple characters from way back and I can’t remember what realms they are on. :frowning: I did the cache delete and everything that I could find in the battle.net support. I even opened a ticket, got some generic response. I try to google my old names that I could remember; Frogenstein the Night Elf Hunter was my highest character. Had a Dwarf Pally and a Twinked out Gnome Rogue somewhere too.

Anyone have any suggestions besides just clicking every realm and seeing if chars show up? Thanks!

I found it through another website! They were on Mannoroth - but none of them are showing up!?!?!

Try the item restore system, it usually lists out servers you have characters on.

First log into the server then. The list can go blank if not logged in for a while. Even going as far as creating a new character to force an update.

Otherwise, those character could be on a different account/license?

Things must’ve gotten mixed up in the years I didn’t play. I thought I just changed my email to my new email, but the license thing might be what is getting me. I wonder if I can call Blizz and they can transfer me my characters. This sorta sucks, I’d love to see my old chars. haha.

If they were on a different wow license, they won’t be transferred for free.

Character transfers are $25 per character. To transfer across different battle.net accounts, both accounts need to be in the same name.

You can always just login to your old license and play any character level 20 or below as a free to pay account.

We wouldn’t be able to transfer of them for you, Jmer, but if the accounts are under the same name you’d be able to use those services.

That said, the account you are posting on doesn’t seem to have any high level characters nor has it been upgraded with Shadowlands yet. If you were able to recover your old World of Warcraft account you may be able to simply use that one. You might even be able to move that license to this Battle.net account so it is all together with your other games.

I’d recommend contacting our Support staff, include what name was on the account at the time, if you can recall which email was used, character names, etc… I’m afraid I couldn’t find a Frogenstein character created in 2009 which means the name may have been reclaimed, but the character itself should still exist.

I misspoke, looks like they were created in 2006ish, 2005 timeline. I opened a ticket (not sure if under the right title) but I included my full name, address of where I was living when I created the account, original login information that I could remember and some other character information.

I’m a little confused by what you mean in terms of me not being able to transfer - yet still use them under my current Battle.net account. Honestly, if I could get them under this Battle.net ID, I would not care about losing my current characters that were created within the past 2 years. I just want my old chars back, heh.

You seemed to wonder in your last post “if Blizzard could transfer you your characters”. Generally speaking, we wouldn’t be able to simply transfer the characters from one World of Warcraft license to another, but you could take advantage of the Character Transfer Service if you wanted to consolidate those characters on a single WoW license.

My suggestion was that since the account you are currently posting on doesn’t have any high level characters nor is is updated to Shadowlands yet, if your goal was to recover your old characters it might be easier and more economical to simply abandon this WoW license in favor of your old account.

Your current WoW license is attached to your Battle.net account. As you may be aware a Battle.net account may house up to 8 WoW licenses plus other Blizzard games so I was suggesting that it would be good to have them all under the same Battle.net account. If you wanted to do that our Support staff would be able to move that old WoW license to your current Battle.net account (assuming the names matched) .

Awesome! That makes total sense! I want to do that. Out with the new, in with the old - so to speak. Thank you for your help.
