Missing Achievements Issue

This is a bit lengthy, I apologize, but I wanted to be thorough in this post.

After logging into the Prepatch yesterday on my rogue I noticed I was missing a slew of achievements but most notably completion of ZA and Hyjal. My rogue has been my main throughout all of Classic WoW and in TBCC I raided on Westfall before transferring to Pagle just before Sunwell launched. So my thought was due to my transfer it may have caused a hiccup. However that was quickly debunked as I asked multiple current and past guild members of mine if they were also missing particular notable achievements. Even those who haven’t transferred servers are missing some dating back to Classic WoW, especially raids/dungeons.

I contacted support last night with links to my character’s Warcraft logs in addition to noting how I have the BT achievement, Hand of A’dal title/feat of strength, the Exalted rep ring w/ Scale of the Sands (Hyjal rep), an Amani War Bear and even a Warglaive that I receive around the 27th of March (mid phase 3-4). I am currently trying to find a screenshot of our kills in Hyjal/ZA to further support/prove what I have already mentioned to the support team as they have already replied saying they will do nothing.

The Game Master’s reply read:
"… I truly understand how frustrating it is to not have an achievement, or worse, a Feat of Strength, automatically completed when you’ve done it in the past.

However, the system our developers put in place has automatically granted your character all of the achievements we could verify. This means that, even though you may have items that could indicate your progress, the Game Masters team will ne unable to manually grant it."

So if they are unable or unwilling is more of my concern. Granted some of the items obtained don’t necessarily prove completion of the raids but even so I can and have supported everything with my warcraft logs reports. It felt like I was being brushed off and they are trying to sweep this under the rug tbh. There is clearly an issue regarding achievement tracking and many raid/dungeon achievements are missing for me and others I know. I really didn’t think I was asking for special treatment. Asking them to correct an error made by the automatic achievement system implemented by Blizzard on my character to show what I have accomplished within my game time doesn’t seem like too much to ask.

If anyone else is experiencing an issue with their achievements due to the automated system please speak up about this. It would be nice to get a quick resolution if possible so please do comment which achievements you may be missing as well. I truly didn’t even want to make a big deal about this but I saw no other way to get this resolved unless I opened this topic to the community after the response I received.

Thanks everyone for reading and best of luck to everyone in Northrend.

The game say’s my hunter never completed ZG even though I still have a screenshot on my computer of her standing in front of a dead Hakkar with the guild I ran at the time lol.

It was like the one thing I felt good about running that guild.

Yeah I can understand the frustration I had lots of good times with my guild too in Hyjal, BT, and ZA.

It’s probably because you do not have an item from that boss OR you have not completed a quest that requires you to kill that boss.

I thought about that too but I completed the quest Blood of the Warlord on both of my characters actually. So that doesn’t quite track not to mention I also received 2 JC designs directly from Archimonde.

They can only mark things that can be verified (i.e. quest completed for the last boss of the raid or gear that drops from them in your bags/bank/character). The same doesnt apply to 5man dungeons which is only if you have done a quest which needs that boss killed to complete.

Not perfect, but it was the same in OG wrath to my knowledge.

Hope they resolve this, I have much the same issues,

Don’t expect Blizzard to knock themselves out trying to retroactively give achievements prior to the achievement system being implemented.

Yes, they originally retroactively tracked based on current proof (having a boss item/quest completed) but it wasn’t 100% fool proof back then.

Frankly, I wouldn’t want Classic devs wasting their time to improve that transition or GMs to spend time on this.

Just redo the stuff you are missing.

That’s great if it is indeed working but I know for a fact I’ve completed the Zul’jin quest on my main.

This happened to me when Wrath originally launched. I didn’t get credit for a ton of stuff I’d done. It’s not a new issue - they aren’t going to use screenshots as or text logs as proof. Their verification system catches what it does, and what it doesn’t you have to re-do. It sucks, but it was never going to be any different.

Most of the achievements are pre-flagged if you have proof of your clear. A ZA bear is not proof of a clear, but owning an item from the final boss is.

Having a Glaive is not proof of a Hyjal clear, because attunements arent active, and if they we’re, you only need to kill the first boss to get into BT.

So if you dont own gear in your bank or on your character of the final boss, or own something that comes from the final boss, then you won’t have achievements pre-marked.

That being said, I would i would imagine the Hand of Adal title would prove you cleared SSC and TK but not Hyjal or BT, so you should have those achievements, and the final boss of ZA dropped a quest item which indicates a clear if you got your badges from his item.

To be fair, we all pay to play this game on a monthly basis and I would really rather not go back and retrace my steps as time is limited, not just mine but everyone’s. The devs are payed to manage the game and make sure systems work, maybe they won’t ever fix it but it seems silly to just sit back and accept it when we all subscribe/pay to play the game each month. Even if nothing does come of it I at least tried so be that as it may I still wish everyone the best in Northrend and hopefully something does come of this

The game gave me100 AV marks, but thinks I’ve never been in AV - let alone won one. And with the Conqueror title on top of that, can you imagine exalting WSG, one 0-3 loss at a time?

GM’s don’t do much anymore.

I’m missing a several cooking achievements

Aq20 is buggy for me. I have items looted from the last boss in my bags and it still won’t pop. It was reported in the ptr and still broken.

That’s completely unacceptable.

I too am missing several achievements. I ran Scholo and Strat enough times to get exalted and 2 yrs later would rather poke my eyes out than step foot there again, but I didn’t get the achievements. AQ as well. I wonder which others I don’t remember and am missing.

I totally get that when OG Wrath came out, the achievements may not have been tracked well as Blizzard hadn’t planned them upon launching World of Warcraft. As I look through the statistics today and there’s a total count of flight paths, deaths and even bandages used, it’s hard to understand how the dungeon and raid achievements aren’t counted. C’mon it’s 15+ years later, Blizzard knew this was coming. I am really disappointed that as Blizzard considered making #somechanges this wasn’t one of them.

The real question is why did they halfass it again for the second time. They could have been tracking achievements in the background since the first classic and just not display it.
