Missing 4th Restored Coffer Key?

On 2 of my chars, I have gotten 3 coffer keys this week, but the 4th “cache” of the week failed to award me a key. Anybody else experiencing this?

On both chars, I did:

  • The lesser keyflame thing
  • Awakening the machine
  • Delves: worldwide research
and got keys from the caches of each of these.

Then I completed the last weekly quest:

  • A Call to Delves
and the awarded cache did NOT give me a key.

I’m about to try again on a 3rd character.

Not all world activities give a key. You need one that has a cache as a reward, like the theater troupe or awakening the machine.

It says I’m 3/4 but I been pretty lazy with the WQ recently but I see I have a weekly in Dorn I haven’t done yet. Will let you know if I get one.

If that’s the one to run 5 Delves, then no, you won’t receive a key from it, as that’s a different type of weekly. That’s a rotating event which comes with a weekly buff.

You need to do Theater Troupe or Azj-Kahet or whatever weekly gives it in Undermine.

Oh that’s helpful.

I assumed it was just like all the other “caches”

Yeah do the two like Sen suggested or you can also do the world map weekly quest. I just got my 4th key from the weekly world quest in Dorn.

The three Delves one from Brann?

Nah, the one where you have to complete 3 WQs to unlock the group WQ that gives you a Seasoned Adventurer’s Cache. It was the one where you had to slay the bees in that forest outside of Cinderbrew.

Oh, Special Assignments. I always forget about those.

Same, the one in the northern part of Hallowfall where you have to play the RNG game to get bait so you get those 3 crab thingys to show up sucks.

I will happily bite the bullet and do Awakened instead over that lol.

Call to Delves doesn’t give keys because that isn’t a normal weekly. I don’t think they ever give keys.

The wax collection never gives keys either. The special assignments will though.

Your are right. Unfortunately the one in question does give a cache. It’s just a “different” cache. Anyway, I should have read the fine print.

How do you tell the difference between a normal weekly and an abnormal one? From what I recall, they both had the same blue quest icon.

I’m just digging in here so I don’t make the same mistake again. My play time is limited, so wasting time on the wrong weekly quest is unfortunate.

Gotta look at the tooltip for each reward love.

The Seasoned Adventurer’s Cache tells you you’ll get a key whereas Cache of Delver’s Spoils doesn’t.

Ok thanks. That makes sense. Just the fine print.

Happy to help.

I don’t know how tight you are on time when you play WoW but always steer clear of this one.

I think there is a weekly cap if you’ve been using the coffer keys as you go. So at some point the caches will just stop giving you keys. Happened to a couple of my toons.

(Sorry if you already knew this, but I kept grinding caches past the point of it being useful for the keys.)

Click on the Seasoned Adventurer’s Cache in the link I posted above, it’ll tell you you can only get up to 4 keys from a weekly cache. Awakened Cache, Theater Troupe Cache, Seasoned Adventurer’s Cache, and the Radiant Cache in Hallowfall all contribute to this cap.

So if you’ve done a Special Assignment in Dorn which rewards a Seasoned Adventurer’s Cache that Tuesday or Wednesday and try to do another one again that shows up later that week after exhausting the other 4 sources of caches that gives a key already you won’t get a fifth. However, you can still get more keys from non-cache activities through the usage of Coffer Key Shards and the two keys sold by Sir Finley.

Use this macro to check how many keys you’ve gotten from caches this week:

/script local function btn(v) return v == true and 1 or v == false and 0 end local q,n=C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted,84736 print("Keys obtained this week:", btn(q(n))+btn(q(n+1))+btn(q(n+2))+btn(q(n+3)) .. "/4")

Mousing over the reward cache when you pick up the quest should tell you I believe.

But each zone has a weekly quest that gives them, then you have the two special assignments that give them, then the normal weekly, i.e. world soul, fragments or delves.
