Missing 1 of the 3 Original Collectors Edition WoW Pets (Panda Cub)

I recently returned to WoW after about 10 years away from the game. When I used to play WoW at level 1 you received a quest which then let you pick one of 3 pets for your character which were Mini Diablo, Zergling or Panda Cub. My account has the first 2 of these pets in the log but not the Panda Cub. (I would always pick Mini Diablo or Zergling)

You can’t pick up this quest anymore and apparently from what I read online it was supposed to be send in the mail or something on new characters. I have been unable to find where to collect the missing pet and opening in game tickets have been no help at all. I wait 3 days for someone to tell me “This is for classic WoW only, not Dragonflight!”. I have a feeling that this is such an old item/quest and that so few people have had to even deal with it that it’s going to be very difficult for someone to understand and help me through a ticket.

Something must have happened to my account over the years and caused it to be unable to be accessed.

If it was in the mail it got deleted assuming u still have to other 2 pets a gm mite be able to give it to you and i mean Mite considering how long its been and weather or not they can verify and give you the pet.

I thought it would be this simple as well. I have the other 2 just fine in my collection logs and “Feats of Strength” achievement under promotions. Just not the Mini Panda.

So far it’s hard getting the GM’s through tickets to understand the problem.

Just to make sure, you’ve checked the filters on your pet tab and tried a full UI reset to make sure it’s not hiding?

And have you tried making a new character on the account to see if they are sent to you?

The only collector’s editions I’m seeing on this license are Dragonflight - Heroic and Epic.

I suspect you may have had another license - one that perhaps wasn’t even connected to a Battlenet back then. If that’s the case, we’ll need to find it.

Anything you can remember - old character names/realms, etc. would be helpful.

Thanks for the quick post Orlyia!

This might be hard as I can remember names but not the servers since I transferred them around often.
The very first character I ever created was called “Doin” a Dwarf Hunter on Dalaran server.
Another possible one is “tazed” Night Elf priest on Sargeras

I can remember other names and the original servers but I know I transferred them off at one stage or another.

Found it - but it’s on a different Battlenet.

I’m trying to think what might be going on, it’s been a long time since I’ve played. I’m online right now with the pets and achievements dated 2008.

You could try Live Chat, Philx. This other account does look related, but I’m not sure it’s yours.

I’ll give that a shot. I have a feeling I split the account or something a long time ago when transferring characters around which could have messed things up with what characters have what pets.

Collector’s edition pets are attached to a license.

If you move a character to another license not on the same Battlenet, they would NOT come with.

I’m honestly even more confused now.

Ok.

Character exists on Battlenet #1 - which buys all the collector’s editions.

Character is moved to Battlenet #2 - which does not have them in it’s own right.

Character no longer has the pets connected to the collector’s editions.

I’m not certain that’s what happened here, but I’d say it’s likely.

I could be totally wrong here or just not remembering correctly, but way back in the day before battle pets were put in the game, when they were just vanity pets, if you transferred a character from one account to another the pets that that character had earned went with you.

This is making more sense now with what you posted and what Cyntaria posted below you. It must have been transferred during the time pre-battle net when the pets were not treated the same.

@Cyntaria
I think you are spot on. This along with what Orlyia makes sense. I mainly played in a time which was when you call up a phone number and chat with someone at Blizzard HQ. It’s been that long  In that case there is no missing panda cub pet.

I remember distinctly that vanity pets were tied per character because I went and did the hidden quest in Feralas to get the Sprite Darter Hatchling on every character, LOL

I’m quite impressed that you remember such a small thing from so long ago. I appreciate your post along with @Orlyia.
