The spawning time really does need to be tweaked or shared nodes added in because it is nearly impossible to find nodes on a high pop server.

This is not true smelting or doesnt get you enough skill to smelt the next type of ore after you get past iron

Mining nodes in un’goro are on dynamic/ < 10 min timers. Everywhere else is 45 min + theres a reason why mithril is 5x thorium prices and other ore like iron surpassing thorium. Something is wrong and it needs to be fixed.

You can level mining purely from smelting up to 290. After that you need to mine. TBC mining you pretty much need to mine all the way, as smelting goes green and gray quick.

I personally love doing an entire circuit of a zone and maybe seeing one vein.

what is funny is evryone is going enginering for wotlk and its impossible to mine on megaserver. people are going to spend thousands of ''hard earned ''gold to level engi.

Mithril is the bottleneck because it costs so much and everyone is farming the few Mithril heavy zones. Wanna know a secret? Just go to Desolace. Literally no one is there, everyone is in the ‘main’ Mithril heavy zones.
Farm Mithril in Desolace until 245, then buy Thorium for super cheap and smelt to 290, then farm 10 Ooze covered nodes in Silithus, then head to Outlands.
It really is that simple. Took me one day and about 500g to level both Mining and Engineering up to 350 a week back. People are struggling because they’re all trying to use the same guides. Think outside the box a little bit and you’ll zip right past the others all fruitlessly trying to find nodes in Tanaris.

you can smelt thorium at 230 but you’re missing the point. blizzards implementation is wrong and it needs looking into.
one zone in all of azeroth/outland is working different than the others.

to 295, put on your +5 mining gloves (all these leveling miners do have the enchant right? star wars meme here), and start on fel iron early.
would be cool if this was fixed before the weekend.
Glad I’m not the only one who thinks leveling mining is a nightmare- thought I was doing something wrong.
Weirdly Un’goro functions how you’re asking here. There’s an abundance of Thorium both Rich and Small veins when doing laps, even with others also farming there. It would be nice if the other zones were similar in terms of taking player density to spawn rate. I’m not sure if it’s physical size of Un’goro map vs say Tanaris map that more people are counted in the area because it’s smaller or not.

The features people keep requesting are prominent in modern day MMOs.
I did 2 full routes around Nagrand didn’t find a single node. I’m kind of over it. It feels like I’m doing a second job and instead of getting paid for it I am paying for it.
