Hey there WoW family. I’ve got a huge problem, and I’m sure many of you do as well. Mining nodes. Where are they? Is there any? Are they taken out or is there just way too many people on the servers and blizzard did not account for such population. I am currently sitting at 310 mining and I fear that it will take me weeks to try and get up to 375. Obviously it will become easier when Wrath is launched, but will it? How many bots are active farming in every zone now? Maybe that is the actual culprit of what is going on. I pay to play this game, when it becomes almost impossible to do something, then there needs to be a change. Does anyone have any ideas or feedback on this issue?
Theres heaps of guides online, check out wow-professions. It took me about 3 days to go from 0 to 375 mining, the guides tell you where to look. Also get GatherMate addon.
I’ve noticed that if you die it will take off your mineral tracking. Just to make sure you’re tracking minerals as well.
Do you have a flying mount? If no go do dailies and buy a flying mount.
Do you follow a set route? If not make a route.
Do you spend at least half an hour looking for nodes? If not you’re not trying hard enough.
The amount of players hurts the node population for sure but there’s a reason we “farm” mats. It takes a long time. Good luck out there. If I can mine fel iron on Faerlina I know you can find mining nodes.
Sometimes it is easier to just buy ore off of the AH and smelt it for levels. Can’t do it 100% of the time, but it helps fill some gaps or if you are tired of mining.
patience my young miner…just keep following the Hellfire Peninsula route…smelt smelt smelt! And when you see a node, run like hell and do anything you can to mine it because it’ll be gone before you know it!
Yes it sucks to have to play the game like that but, such is life in a very populated MMO!
I have noticed that many people are mining now, it is possible that in a hour you manage to find 5 to 10 nodes, people in chat says we have many bots, i was finally able to reach 375 yesterday after long flying times.
I was having that same issue as nodes were mostly missing, even when not visually finding others mine farming like I would normally. Yesterday though I was able to find lots of nodes yesterday after the patch. Could have been coincidence of course. Up to 340 now, and I have the +5 mining gloves so I feel confident I will max mining out again in a day or so of casually looking prior to wotlk launch.
Does feel they need to increase the spawn rate due to the sheer amount of bodies they choose to allow on servers. It’s a problem of Blizzards own creation by providing the same small game space as before but more than doubling the pop of the servers. Northrend is gonna be toxic af with the nodes or lack thereof.
Its the beginning of an expansion. Everyone is changing/leveling new professions. Give it a few weeks and they’ll all be sitting there for days untapped again.
In the mean-time try instances with nodes inside.
People are leveling new toons for wrath now and training professions in their down time, especially with major hubs about to be uninhabitable due to the plague.
I’ve gone over an hour straight without a single node in outland…even switching up routes and stuff in case I’m right behind someone.
It is painfully scarce
Yeah an hour without a single node is pretty bad unless you were right behind someone. You can always transfer server for more nodes.
I’d rather stay on the server I’ve met a lovely community on, than abandon it for a couple more g.
If you’re playing on a megaserver, that’s your issue. Way too many other players and way too many bots camping minding nodes and herbs HARD. That’s why you’re not finding any.
There are certain negatives to playing on a mega/high population server - and node/resource farming competition is one of them. Have to take the bad with the good I suppose.
the issue is the lack of layers on non mega servers and improper respawn times/pooling.
nodes are one tap but still follow the tbc spawning
I’ve spent time in each of the zones with mithril. Just finished a full lap 2/2 of Hinterlands…hit 1 mithril and 1 gold. Saw a leveler at the flight point just before I stopped. Did not see another soul in the zone. Is it a coincidence that mithril is 3g45s per and thorium is 60-80s per? There is also more than twice as many listings for thorium. Looking up what wowhead shows for node count, it shows more thorium nodes, but not enough to be seeing this imo. It seems that it is either being botted hardcore for the increased sell price, or isn’t spawning quickly enough.

funny how herb nodes and skinnable beasts don’t share this mining mechanic.
