Mining nodes

I’m having trouble finding any nodes. I will running through WPL and EPL and might find 1 or 2 mithril or small thorium veins on a single pass through both zones. I don’t think there are any bots out, I rarely run into other people. Maybe the spawn rate is just ridiculous.

Welcome to mining.

That’s mining bro. I’ve noticed that nodes in mines/caves don’t always show up on mini maps and that there are also sweet spots that nearly always spawn a node.

Bots are set to travel to those spots so you may never seen them? Sometimes it’s easier to farm motes or other stuff then sell and buy ore…

this is a major problem in the new TBC zones too. Not a single or in 3 circles of Zangar, 3 of Nagrand, and 3 of Netherstorm. …that is virtually IMPOSSIBLE…either the spawn rate is not ramped up to the farm rate like blizzard said they would, or they need to add layers back in. I havent seen an area layered in a week and a half now. Either way. This is also affecting terocone.

The terocone drought is real. At least mana thistle is supposed to be rare.

How large is your server population?

TBC nodes are even more rare, I’ve been leveling 58-67 in Outland and I only found exactly 42 nodes of any types and that is after exploring and doing all quests in each zones so far and I play on a low/mid pop server…

That does not mean there isn’t competition. At any moment, what percent of WPL+EPL can you actually see? Probably 0.2%. There could be 4 other farmers running around, picking all the nodes (which each take 20 minutes to respawn). It doesn’t take 75 farmers to pick a zone clean.

A lot of people are farming ore on my server. Vanilla ores are mostly worthless right now, and there is lots of competition for TBC ore.

My server is Westfall which fluctuates between High and Full. But with no layers for some reason, and no adjusted spawn rates for gathering nodes. so it’s over all BRUTAL.

Both mining and herbing are being nerfed a bit due to botting. On tue the patch should reduce the respawn rates and total nodes of both by about 45%

It’s funnier if you confine your shtick to one toon.

ok. WPL is actually a bust for mining thorium aside from the cave with the slimes and the mine in hearthglen, It’s pretty standard to have 1-2 high value nodes in this location.

EPL on the other has multiple high value nodes spawning ina select few locations.
-The plague undead area’s north of Lights hope and north of southguard tower.
-Multiple node spawns north of lights hope as far as northguard guard tower.
-In the “scar” area’s is almost guranteed 1 high value node.

Aside from that you’re going to find junk value small thorium and mithril. EDIT just focus on the igh value spawns unless mithril is fetching a solid price (and it should with the amount of JC alts and blacksmithing rerolls)

Well blizzard let y’all fill the server because apparently 3-5k was a technical limitation. So now you can have 10k or more. They DID NOT increase node spawns or the amount of them. They cannot do that for just your server. It would ruin herb/mining for medium pop servers. So if you play on a server that size you’re going to have a hard time farming and pay increased prices because there will never be enough supplies to meet the demand.

I’d recommend doing your mining farm at off-peak hours to minimise your chances that other people are farming the same area. If you’re following a loop and another person is a few minutes ahead of you on the same loop, you’ll never see any nodes nor the person who is beating you to it.

Also, kill on sight anybody from the opposite faction to deter them from hanging around and potentially stealing nodes.

How does nerfing respawn rates counter botters?

leveling mining is actually really hard.

@Kirarozu they are supposed to increase node spawn rates based on population, that’s what they claimed they would be doing. implementing an algorithm that works like when you get faster spawn rates on mobs for congested areas. It is not server specific, the Algorithm is supposed to self adjust for any server.

Dropped my mining the other day, there’s more efficient ways to earn gold now. With layering heavily reduced/removed, there are more people competing for the nodes.

source for this? I can’t find a single blue post stating this?
