Because that’s not far off from what previously existed, and was a complete and total mess of compounding issues by the time it got removed. The issue was that the MotFW passive was the only way to tune 2H without also buffing DW, and that concept went south really fast from a balancing perspective. This is looking like it will be the same issues all over again, and really just makes some of us groan that Blizzard is repeating the same mistake that even they acknowledged was problematic.

Also, there isn’t even a “tuning fork” (not a good use of this term) for DW here - the passive is just about giving 2H a leg to stand on, however briefly. And there are still several talents that are going to be imbalanced as a result of being designed around DW. They’re putting a lot of work into something that inherently isn’t going to work.

As long as 2h obliterates are noticeably stronger than DW obliterates it’s a success. I can say personally I am satisfied.

What? using a 2h increases the chance of auto-attacks procing killing machine. The passive directly addresses your concern. Also, we have no idea what % it will finally increase it (following the final wave of tuning), so it is unfair to claim DW is stronger or weaker, well have a test it out.

The point is, the passive is a way to balance 2h or DW WITHOUT having an impact on the other. Its exactly what… some people… always claimed was impossible.

Its 10% difference on KM procs which DW will have more of still. Its a band aid.

Our long wait in the shadows is finally over.

Is it though? Or are people just seeing a small change to 2h and running with it, yet again.

Its blizzard making a clear effort of balancing the weapons sets separate from each other and allowing for differing playing styles. Be happy - everyone wins.

If you think 10% KM damage more than DW is an attempt at balance. Its worse than the cata implementation of MotFW.

Yeah… I took a break too. Just re-subbed a week or two ago.

Just be happy, it doesnt have any impact on DW. You can play exactly as you used to. Other people who like 2h, however, get to have some hope to play what they want.

Its literally 10% more KM damage over DW for obliterate. Thats it with an attempt to make 2h proc KM a little more even though its still triggered the same way. Its a world content weapon thats going to muddy the RNG loot tables.

Allthou my ptr-dk is only lvl 17, but it does feel like 2h Obl. hits alot harder now compared to a few days ago…

Its literally been in the PTR for 2 hours. Let them balance it.

Where’s the 10% number coming from even?

So you will shove all the damage into Obliterate for 2h, which then brings back the issues of WoD. I dont know what people are expecting out of this to be honest.

Then dont play 2h. No one is forcing you.
