Meteor Hit Box?

Is it just me, or does the Meteor hit box seem way bigger than it’s portrayed on the ground? I was just doing the Arathi Brawl, where it’s all snow, and noticed the ground taking a way bigger zone after it had landed, and I’m assuming this difference is the dot it throws down.

100% since I’ve had it hit people that are definitely outside the casting circle. Always assumed it was due to latency, but I’m not so sure.

Seems to be the case.

Pretty sure it has to do with the latency of both the players. Idk how it works but there have been times I have literally used my trinket + sprint to run out of a meteor and line and I DIE BEHIND THE PILLAR that is the opposite side of the placed location

i have 40ms too so something is up with blizzard.

ORRRRR maybe its based on like if you are standing in the meteor area when the meteor finally starts to actually drop it takes a snapshot and just does the damage when the meteor animation hits the ground

just some quick thoughts of mine. Im kinda thinking about it like how chaos bolt works. It takes a snapshot of everything right as the chaos bolt cast ends. Even if i pop cloak, if it was after the cast ended i still get hit for the damage

i bet dinosaurs were wondering THE SAME THING.

Too far.

Interesting feedback. I know I’ve gripped people out before and it’s still landed even after they’re clearly out. It must be an MS issue coupled with the fact that it’s just a bigger circle than it appears to be.

i pretty much assumed it works as when their global goes off? Even if your in it if a priest grips you out of it you still get hit, its happened multiple times ive seen so i just assumed thats how it always worked.

when you see the icon it starts kinda light then does a glow effect, a second later the meteor hits. that glow effect is when the damage is for sure gonna hit you, if you are a mage caught in it and blink out right after the glow you will still get hit. kinda dumb imo.
