Wow, second time I’ve seen this today, in two totally different places. Apparently the internet wants me to get down with the oldest of schools.

Not that much of a metalhead, but I have a metalhead brother. And I do like some of it, such as this magnificence:

i know theres still a lot of people who havent forgiven Tim, but i personally think he is sincere and he has owned it and did his time for what he did. i think this album is kind of autobiographical in that way.

that being said… these songs just destroy and are best listened to as loud as possible

My wife thinks I am nuts for liking these guys. For all I know, she may be right. /shrug

I believe I saw Doro Pesh and crew play that in Atlanta back when it came out opening for Testament. I could handle about 5 minutes of that pit!

Although, I really like this follow on song. The bass line is awesome!

That same summer I saw these guys play this song live too. Man I miss those days!

big ouch.
Black metal is interesting in that the fanbase of a genre based on extremes is itself divided in extremes. You have the trve kvlt types that are as you said miserable. And then you have the other camp where anything goes, the more unconventional the better.

Yes. Godzilla death metal.

“Classic” Metal

Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Scorpions
Metallica
Etc.

Yeah. I’m old. LOL

A lot of different bands/artists. My exception is weirdo bands that do the whole manowar type music, I just find them a bit lame (sorry people who like them, different strokes and all that). I also dislike the thrash or growl bands, being a child of the 1970s, my tastes focus around then and the 1980s, with some eurorock thrown in from the last 20 years.

i never understood why there is so much division in metal, it should be us against the world, no matter what kind of metal you like…

Helps keep it organized. You can say you like sepultura and i can recommend nightbringer. They sound nothing alike and you may very well hate them lol.
