Yesterday i received a blue message in game telling me that my account was going to be closed or cancelled not sure it happened so fast and i was invited to go to a site I forgot the name but it finished with .cn to make the corrections needed to continue playing .I reported it but i see no blue post coming from you guys warning people of this scam .I remember in vanilla and bc all the players who got their account compromised
Our messages will be in blue text - have a blizzard logo next to them, and pop up in their own chatbox, Rognon.
We also wouldn’t send you to a website like that, that was indeed a phish.
I know this , but i see no warning from you guys to warn players , knowing all the damage they did in the past i feel it is best for to report it and make sure u are aware of this awful fraud .I don’t believe the game need a major fraud like this right now . Sir it was in blue text and using the game name
That’s impossible for a normal account to have any blue text coloring, along with having the Blizzard icon. Blizzard also made posts about it, as linked above.
Just right-click report, Rognon. Fun fact, a real GM actually can’t be reported through that method.
One of the messages that appears on the loading screen after login talks about it. People didn’t pay attention to it when it was up long enough for them to see it.
Even if Blizzard did post something like that, players would ignore it. Like clicking Accept on the EULA without actually reading it.
Because bad people are always trying to steal your account info. It would be overwhelming to have to be reminded to keep my account secure every time they tried a different website, or different toon name.
I’m so glad you didn’t fall for it and were able to report it!
If you don’t know by now not to click on links that you don’t know where they go, and then not to input your personal information on those websites, no amount of warning is going to help.
