Its a characteristic of some Alliance players that they complain about phantom problems , faction ‘imbalance’ ,maps, ‘biased’ racials , seal of blood etc etc

There needs to be a negative to bandwagoning to a single fraction, otherwise it won’t be self correcting. Just slapping merc mode in the game keeps all the advantages of being horde in the game and removes the only negatives.
No one would play alliance at all. Why would they? If you could get instant BG queues as horde AND dominate the world space all while enjoying superior racials, why would anyone roll alliance ever?
The remaining alliance population would cease to exist.
Screw mercenary mode. The game needs faction balance.
Open up faction transfers, there are players who would switch for a quicker queue.
Remove the restriction of allowing a character of each faction on PVP realms. There are those who will happily play both. Quite a few already do, they just pay for 2 accounts.
Horde players are the most CHILDISH players that will EVER EXIST

Merc mode is a horrible idea as it rewards people for feeding into a cycle. I am sorry, but if you choose to go with the faction that has the larger population, you should face the repercussions of that and have some longer queues. If you want a shorter wait, the alliance is there for you.
Mercenary Mode didn’t kill Alliance in retail. What killed Alliance in Retail was them bringing Every Man For Himself in line to not be such a “MUST HAVE THIS RACIAL” for arena because giving a race a free pvp trinket and freeing them to do more damage with another damage trinket was a horrible idea. The only time it didn’t dictate what faction pvpers went was MoP when you lost stats for not equipping a pvp trinket for the set bonus pvp power.
Even in Wrath, people sure played Horde but look at any tournament game in Wrath where they didn’t have to use their characters like the Tournament Test Realm, they were invariably human. At that point the skill gap between the rank 1s and the gladiators was still big enough that you didn’t need a racial to win the game. It wasn’t until everyone at that level was roughly on par in terms of skill that they began looking for the other niche things for those competitive edges, which happened to be that racial.
Once it got nerfed they went Horde in Legion for Arcane Torrent, once that got nerfed in BFA they just stayed Horde because there was no point to being Alliance without a busted racial. In fact that’s the main reason why Alliance ever had as many people as it did. Do you think guilds like Progress would be Alliance if horde had paladins in Vanilla, Human Sword Specialization wasn’t a ridiculous dps gain, and Fear Ward wasn’t a dwarf priest exclusive ability?
Well yeah you’re just going into detail as to why one specific faction died over the other. I’m just saying overall, merc mode is what can keep one faction dead regardless of which faction becomes the FoTM this month.
So even if tomorrow horde is the dead ones in retail, merc mode will always be there just as a bandaid for faction imbalance and there is no downsides to swarming one faction anymore.
There are no ‘advantages’
The factions are blanched as are facials…hell they even gave SoB to Alliance to try to calm them down. but like so many organization before once you go down the road of Alliance appeasement it never ends
Merc mode is perfect for the game and affects not a single alliance player in any way.

Understand this guy is either a really adamant troll, or he has absolutely no clue what he is talking about. I would suggest putting him on ignore as this post proves to anyone with even a base level of understanding of this game that he has absolutely no freaking clue what he is talking about.

And i want people to read this post as a typical Alliance Troll who knows full Well that Merc mode will not affect a single alliance player in the game, and that it would be of benefit to the community as a whole.
But this person refuses to acknowledge this because of well known Pettiness from some alliance players
This is the real reason behind some Alliance player opposition, pure trumpian partisanship and a refusal to acknowledge simple facts. And i emphasize only some players, there are some Alliance playes who realize that letting this continue is bad for the game.
