As it stands now it just reminds me when your boss tells you that you’re going to be in charge of training the new employees and when you ask if that comes with a raise they just laugh. no one likes taking on extra responsibilities with out being compensated.

The Mentor Program is voluntary. It provides no status, reward, nor is there a requirement to join it. It can be left at any time.
Its goal is to help new players, there should be no reward. Only those that wish to help should be part of it

but with out reward it just turns into a cesspool chat, filled with trolls and broken bot macros. trust me, it attracts the wrong crowd.

Haven’t seen any bots or macros being spammed whatsoever.
If you don’t like it, report and /ignore the offending players. Easy.

Funny Enough, I am a mentor. I don’t see that specific behavior often. I do often respond, get whispers and help more
How would adding a reward stop the problem behavior?
If your boss tells you to do something, you are inclined to do it. Not the same for a volunteer position.
How would rewards fix this? Also your original post has no argument. What are the talking points?

i mean hey if you make it like uber/lift where each person gets a ratting people won’t be acting like poop bags on it I’m sure if that means they don’t get their goodies.
I’d love to help, but I’m not elite enough to qualify to help other players, according to the ridiculous requirements to be part of the program, which honestly seems to be aimed at making high-end players feel more self-important than anything to do with helping new arrivals.

They already have flags. If they get enough there are consequences.
yeah but as long as you require them to stay on their best behavior and actually help to get reward you’re fine.

I very rarely see real questions from new players. I often see people trying to talk to their group members and typing in the wrong chat channel.

I have not seen mentors acting up. But I do not play all day. Currently on my lunch at the office. In the case of the mentors, helping the new players is the reward. Enjoy the good feels

I’m in newcomer chat all the time helping people, I’ve only seen spam twice and so far only one person not being helpful.
Putting some reward in play will just attract people who want stuff other than helping new players.
