I do know there are plans to update the mentor requirements in 9.0.5. So if Ny’thoela is not your thing there were 6 total options to qualify and I believe you only needed two completed to qualify.
I am happy to become a mentor. You do not have to do it. But those that wish to help, can freely give of their time to welcome new player and give advice. ![]()
I want to believe you do wanna help but you are either to busy or too greedy to dedicate your time without a reward, its not the right mindset at all
yeah and this whole game is designed around wanting stuff and helping players in mean time. I mean the 5 ppl that actually do dmg in LFRs are the OG mentors you act as if getting stuff will make people spit on lower players
Yes, I feel the same way.
it will also be exploited for the rewards
I don’t even know where to start on trying to understand this post.
This was never said. What you do not realize is that it will turn into another trade chat if we begin giving out rewards willy nilly.
Yes it will.
Just wish people would actually ask for help lol.
FF the novice network is bustling, in wow you get bots on occasion, and there’s people in there, but no one talks.
I get to give help a few times a week. Usually when I am waiting on filling M+ or raid to fill
But yea the NN in 14 is always popping
unfortunately though whether that popping is a good thing or a bad thing depends on server lol.
I blame the devolution of online communication into required 3rd party platforms like Discord.
and that is a fair point
I wouldn’t really call that devolution.
For our guild discord allows us to chat and post memes whatever we’re doing, not just while we are in wow.
Used to be forums, but those are clunky compared to discord.
The idea of getting compensated for helping others isn’t a crazy idea, you realize people wouldn’t serve you at a restaurant or help fix your car with out some sort of compensation right? a lot of them will be nice too cause normal people aren’t psychopaths who become violent and volatile when rewards are involved.
I just see people confusing newcomer chat for dungeon chat
That’s their job. Okay how about this, I used to work at a soup kitchen for 10 years getting the homeless fed and cared for, did I make a dine? No, because get this people help others to help people , not help themselves.
I’m always amazed that people want to volunteer to help a billion dollar corporation make money… for free.
And mostly because they can’t be bothered to properly document the game so that players can figure things out on their own, and so need to be mentored.
The choice to volunteer to mentor others is not a job.
You keep putting words into people’s mouths. Your nonsensical hyperbole is not helping your case.
Yes, exactly.
We are helping people and our community to ensure that the game we enjoy is here for much longer and new players can find a good community of helpful individuals who wish to do so not for rewards, but because we value each other.
I am amazed that individuals such as yourself cannot understand this.
why else be afraid of adding rewards if you’re not fearful of people going crazy over them? the implication is there that they believe the rewards will cause toxicity
