so, i just finished grinding rank 2 on my warrior, and when i try to buy rank3 it says it requires the achievement “Nautical Battlefield Training”, which i already have from my main, but still cant buy it…
so if achievements are account wide, why cant i just buy the damn essence? i had to basically force myself to grind rank 2 AGAIN, i dont have the time or the patience to grind rank 3… and still have 2 more alts so 3 times? how is this ok???

I just did the exact same thing. The game isnt alt friendly anymore. WTB legion, get max level go pvp with a 10% max stat difference.

The achievements aren’t account wide for those and is 15 minutes a day for a week a grind ?

Just don’t play alts. I’m getting this guy up through the essences again after doing it once before and I’m already just waiting for the day when it’s finally done.
Once people stop playing alts, Blizzard will see in their data that people actually really for real aren’t lying when we say we don’t like this system stacking nonsense.

I know you come into these threads just to pick fights, and so you aren’t as stupid as your comments would appear. So you of course already know that in a conversation about “alts” and “essences” we would be talking about lv 120 characters.

Do you really think blizzard cares if people are playing alts or their mains ? I actually don’t know why they would even keep track of that because it makes no difference to them.

You gotta level your battle buddy in Naz’jatar. Takes about 16 days to do, roughly, to get to the level needed for that.
Not gonna go sit in an old zone on top of doing dailies in ‘new’ zones for Essence stuff, sorry. Just means I won’t play the alt/characters for anything in the end.

doing it once more? sure, i would put up with that, but i have 4 “geared” characters over 445 and 3 of them are stuck with essences rank 1. i would like to eventually level all my alts and have at least some of them geared for an easy leveling into shadowlands, but having to grind for weeks just to be functional as a dps is not logic.
even if it is as you say, 15 min a day, it is timegated which means ill be nearly useless as dps for the time that would take, and please dont tell me there`s no noticeable difference between rank 1 and 3 essences…
How did you get them to over ilvl 445 with only rank 1 essences if they are useless as dps ?

Memory isn’t too bad since the follower quests are done quickly. If you’re progressing rep in the new areas though, I think you’ll find this patch very tedious.
(I am only progressing 1/2 as many characters this patch)
By doing current WoW content, not Classic WoW.

Everything in this patch is too punishing for alts. I have every class at max level, but I’m only playing my main now. The thought of managing neck, cape, essences, corruption, visions, dailies, raiderio, and just plain regular gear on multiple characters is too depressing. Everything should be account wide. The concept of a main doesn’t make sense anymore. People would play more if they could swap between their characters, not less.

Ugh no thanks! No offense but that mindset is bleh. Alts are fun or at least they used to be, I want a return to “bring the player” mentality with the devs. Being locked down steals the fun at least in my book.
So here’s the thing.
Achievements with a blue border are account bound involving actual rewards. This Side Up is a good example of one. Same with Glory of the Legion Dungeon Hero. Blue Banner.
Nautical Battlefield Training does not have said blue border, which means completing it on one character only guarantees the rewards for that character. If you mouse over the achievement point counter on your warrior, it will say: “Not earned by:” And then your warrior’s name.

I hate to be that guy, but does each of your alts really need rank 3 of each essence?
How about you just use rank 2 and move on with your life? I’m assuming that you’re not going for a world-first mythic kill with your alt, so the difference between ranks 2 and 3 really, really isn’t that big.
