Man, Iâd say itâs exact opposite. Theyâre catering far more to casuals in BfA than ever before.

The problem with meme specs is that this is the same as selling product no one wants.
If you want just play alone and do PvE stuff with a random groups than it is okay. Most of the time people donât care about your spec. But if you want to REALLY experience PvE/PvP content you will not be invited to raids or to PvP groups. It was the same in Late Vanilla and it was everyday after in every Expansion. People look you over and they donât âbuyâ you as a product you are selling to them.
This could be said for all the hate thatâs spewed at everyone who brings any opinion on to this forum, and the common response is: âNo I will not scroll by because this is an online forum and I can state my opinion whether you like it or notâ basically.
So, deal with it.
I donât actually disagree that the modern game is bad for a lot of reasons.
My point is however more about how people respond to those who optimize with âitâs game, just relax and have funâ and the underlying sentiment that those who optimize their characters arenât having fun with the game.
Which wasnât even an underlying sentiment in your post. It was literally just what one of your main points were:
They just go by rational thinking of what -should- be more fun, when in reality you donât even realize why you enjoy a game
Thatâs the point Iâm attacking here: The idea that people who want to optimize are not having fun and donât understand why video games are supposed to be fun. Plenty of us full well know what weâre doing and actively enjoy doing that.
Plus, people who like to optimize their characters isnât what leads to bad game design. Developers who think that the answer is âletâs make everybody always do the same amount of DPSâ is what leads to bad game design.
I was referring more to Feral Druid spec which actually does handle sustained DPS over long fights quite nicely. I personally have never tried a Boomkin, not a fan of the owl bear look and âgoobly gooblyâ calls they make.
Lame⌠I was really hoping to not have to far scholo for witchblade, looks like mage it is lol.
Not even, the game used to be more casual because earlier content in expansions stayed relevant, now you skip to the final raid and grind it hard.
The definition of âcasualâ and even âcatered toâ are subjective so yeah.

Ret paladins and Enhance shamans that use all their class abilities, bring consumables, show up on time and often while swinging Nightfall can be a very solid contributor to most raids.
Wouldnât that imply Classic/vanilla is not catering to casuals?
The fact the old content remained relevant was because it was necessary to do that content and acquire the gear from it in order to succeed in the next bit of content.
Dungeons for T1.
T1 for T2.
T2 for T2.5
T2.5 for T3.
Tell me what sort of casual is going to want to do all the old raids instead of just the most recent one.
Now days anyone can basically leap to what is essentially the Naxxramas equivalent without ever having to group.
It means casuals can enjoy content at the pace they want, they can enjoy all aspects of the game. Guilds will still be clearing mc when others are clearing naxx, giving casuals the raid and group experience they otherwise would never have.
Which is even more the case in BfA, because casuals can decide they can do the current raid at any time instead of having to work up to it. Casuals will have a much harder time enjoying all aspects of the game in vanilla.
Not to mention the catch-up systems in BfA, all of which are easily accessible, giving you access to mythic raid quality gear for doing solo content. By contrast, the catch-up systems in vanilla were basically decent blues that could get you into a raid.
You can swap as Paladins using BoP. The other tank, whatever class it is, just has to surpass you on the threat table during BoP.
Just like Taunt doesnât generate any threat. It just puts you momentarily at the top and forces the target to attack you. If you canât remain at the top of the table after it wears off, they go back to the original target, or whomever is the highest on the threat table.
They can work up to the current content, but them getting invited to non-lfr is another story, and unlikely. The game is so closed of to casuals thatâs why the subs are so low, unless you are over geared for current content you arenât pugging anything. At least before there wasnât gear requirements, and the difference between gear power in raids was minimal. MC epics are garbage those blues that are catch up like zg crafted actually outshine t2.
They donât even have to be invited to raids. The world quest rewards are literally as good, if not better, than Mythic raid gear. Benthic gear is BiS.
They donât even have to raid Mythic to be geared like one. And with Titanforging, even if they want the raid gear, they can get Mythic quality from LFR.
There are plenty of reasons BfA is bad, but I can almost assure you âclosed off to casualsâ is not one of them. Hahaha.
Are you sure about that? lol
Depends on the spec, but no, the ZG crafted gear was generally /not/ better than T2.
At the very least, youâd still have many pieces that came from BWL. The catch-up gear in vanilla didnât fill every slot.
If you think people in crafted blues were outperforming BWL geared raiders, youâre delusional.
I feel like your wife was killed an accident involving a private server so you canât make a post without trying to talk about itâŚ
It sounds like someone is mad because they got rejected for a raid slot or gear drops. Well, thatâs the price you pay for picking an inferior spec.
A streamer must have used the term which gets parroted on the forums.
