lol my first thought. What a joke of a thread. All of you babies should try playing a caster and then talk about melting in pvp. You can’t even do any damage when a melee is on you.

Probably about AV or IOC. Those are a lot tougher on melee. But yeah… anything else is pretty ridiculous.

Yeah, all these mages laughin’ at melee. I wonder why… If you’all aren’t decent/good at escaping melee, with maybe the exception of rogues, you probably are a :drooling_face: mage.

Called flamestrike spam. For other classes it’s hardly noticeable for a ret it is apparent.

Only Assassin rogue is doing extensively well. Fire mages are the second top dps atm, followed by boomies and shadow priests.
also any mage that struggles against melee (outside of rogue) is a really crap mage. Luckily most random bg mages are really crappy mages.

I haven’t been following PvP trends, but I don’t use flamestrike in 1v1 situations at all and my (currently level 119) warrior hasn’t seen other mages use it either. It’s a crummy 20% slow where you could have an instant pyro instead.

It’s used in team fights by “crappy mages”. Mentioned in my original post that as a ret if there is a lot of range you need to stick to the team and rely on their cc to actually be of use.

sweetie if you struggle against melee as a mage then yikes. BTW against mages rets should have 0 chances our only reliable mobility is our bubble since any decent mage can easily spell steal our freedom. That 20% is extremely annoying for a class that relies on a 25
sec dispellable ability, as the horse is affected by slow and is a pain to use with certain terrain.

You have a 70% slow. That’s ranged. That mages can’t clear without using ice block. :tipping_hand_man:

you also have a snare, poly, and shimmer which allows you to continue casting while also blinking you away from melee.

Mele are very survivable this xpac… for a change… on my Paladin the only sort of casters that give me trouble are the ones that can stealth cast a greater pyroblast on me while I’m fighting someone else
