Megathread: Twilight Highlands Allied Races - DRAGONMAW Orcs and WILDHAMMER Dwarves

What assets do Kul Tirans use? Is it Human? I feel like they run different to Humans.

There are exceptions to every rule. But list the exceptions against those that fall in line. One list is much longer than the other. The scant few exceptions do not invalidate the overall trend. They’re what we call “outliers.”

I do agree. That was the original player pitch. Get stuff like Forest Trolls and Frost Dwarves in there easily with a system like that.

It would also make adding a bunch of variants of one Overall Race less egregious.

However it manifests, I don’t think more player choice is ever egregious.

still wish murlocs would be a playable race, they are even in both newbie starting zones (goldshire and outside undercity) already.

I think if the first idea for WoD with the beast races rising up manifested, we would have eventually gotten Murlocs as an Allied Race.

Honestly, it just takes a single line of lore explaining that this particular tribe of Murlocs were more intelligent and verbal because of X MacGuffin.

We have wild hammer dwarves already. You can make them with the Base dwarf.

You can also make dragon maw with the Maghar orc.

You can make a bronzebeard dwarf with tattoos and I don’t know what you mean about the Mag’har
they don’t match up with the Dragonmaw in the main timeline.

Wildhammer proper can’t be made right now. Neither can Dragonmaw.

Not with that shallow creative attitude.

Not a matter of creativity.

It’s a matter of arbitrary choices blizzard is making about what is an AR or not.

I have a Wildhammer dwarf right now, I’m just not happy that they’re not represented like they should be so I request they fix that issue.

Fenelon is correct. They mixed two AR-philosophies into the game, where it’s either part of the main race or its own thing. The reason for this: They just want to cut corners.

It’s obvious with the barber shop tattoo-names for the Dwarves. You can have right now a Wildhammer Dwarf with wrong racials.

Every. and I mean EVERY. EVERYTIME I see the title on this thread I hear the intro to Holy Wars.

Every. Single. Time.

No you can’t, in fact we never saw them in WoD.

What you are talking about are Blackrock Orcs.

Yup. Dragonmaw were suspiciously absent from Warlords, though later stuff implied they rode rylaks around which, vaguely implies they may have spun off from the Thunderlords

Genuinely I reckon the best hope for Dragonmaw is just customisation at this point. Given the reaction folks had to Earthen, I don’t think racials are something folks care that much about as a differing point. Wildhammer are just too similar to standard dwarves

I am talking about Grey Orcs and Tattoo celtic Dwarves. Both of which can be made currently in wow with Mahgar orcs and Base line dwarf.

The Maghar customisations aren’t right for Dragonmaw. Aside from the obvious (IE: In orc heritage you can actually join the Dragonmaw, Maghar don’t have that option because Dragonmaw aren’t part of the Maghar) they’re a seperate skin type. Blackrock is darker and almost has armor, Dragonmaw should be a medium grey with the tatoos. Maghar don’t have any tatoos (maghar legit have some of the fewest customisations, they need a revamp) and regular orcs don’t have the Dragonmaw tatoos

They should be added as a skin option for standard orcs, like how eredar were added to draenei

You can only make Dragonmaw and Wildhammer if you maintain a distance of 200 ft. and squint. And the same could have been said of Dark Iron, Mag’har, and whatever else before they were implemented.

Not ideal, but ultimately permissable.

I do want Dragonmaw to be able to introduce dragon taming to the game for Hunters, though. Follow up on the Duroz storyline with Kolgar forging a new kind of relationship with the red dragons and himself joining the Dragonmaw Clan proper.

We already have the lesser dragonkin taming, full on dragons wouldn’t be tameable
