No.
It seems to me you are arguing from the perspective, that I want huge dragon beings. When all I want is bulkier dracthyr, like the humans and orcs are bulkier.
Having dracthyr being bulkier, does not get them closer to drakonids or dragons, that is just silly.
With Augmentation on the way, a melee/tank Dracthyr has become extremely unlikely. Drakonid remain the best solution for those players whose desire for bulky, monstrous, tanks, melee-oriented playable dragons remains unfulfilled.
Drakonid Druids would be interesting. Honestly, I would be open to having skin colour access restricted by class, with green accessibility limited solely to Druids.
Slightly offtopic, but if weâre not getting Drakonid, Iâd love to see Orc Druids (perhaps Dragonmaw) implemented along these lines rather than following in the Night Elven mold. Their bear form could be Drakonid.
The discontent with even the loyalist dragonkin is interesting. Would be a perfect jumping off point for some drakonid to break away from the dragons to become adventurers without becoming openly antagonistic.
What about the Drakonid, then? âWhen it comes to expanding [the Dracthyr] to other things I think thatâs a future conversation that weâll have about what opportunities make sense, and even opportunities for allied races, too,â Dawson tells PCGamesN. âWeâre always having conversations about how can we include more things in that, too. I think going to the Dragon Isles offers us more opportunity to consider things there.
âWe take a look at some of the fan-favourite things, listen to what the requests are, have internal conversations because everyone on the team is always requesting stuff like this too, and we make decisions based on whatâs in the best interest of the community.â
He does, however, pretty much nail the coffin of a Dracthyr warrior class shut. âFor the Dracthyr specifically we did want to pair the race and the class together tightly, so I wouldnât expect to see any Dracthyr warriors in the near future.â
A couple interesting implications. Firstly, that he brought up Allied Races when speaking about Dracthyr class selection, unprompted. Secondly, a firm stance against expanding Dracthyr class options. Itâs almost as if they launched Dracthyr knowing that there was a gap in their playable dragon fantasy, and have a plan to fill it that they canât quite speak to yet.
Add in the suspiciously serendipitous questline about drakonkin being given the option to continue their service of the dragons voluntarily or pursue their own personal goals⊠it does seem like expanded playable options are a foregone conclusion.
