Ogres now please.
That would be insulting, since theyâve had an iconic skeleton with mostly usable animations for most of WoWâs lifetime.
I still say Ogres shouldnât be an Allied Race, they deserve to be listed on the Core Race page.
Itâs a great website to not only show off Ogre customization, but also the creator even wrote up their own lore ideas and such. I wish I had talent like that.
I also still think that if they tinker with the current Ogre model, they could make it playable. It has a dance, it rides mounts, and even has some animations. They just need to create a female Ogre model to go with it.
Also, I do think theyâd do better as a core race than an allied race, but Iâd be willing to accept them as an allied race if it means we would finally get playable Horde Ogres.
Dream big, Ogre fans!
I think they already have a decent base for those with the Blood Troll Warmothers, although they would need as much work as either of the Kul Tiran models did to be playable.
Iâve seen that model brought up before a few times, and Iâm sure something could be done with it to rig female Ogres onto it and give it more Ogre-like animations. It does seem like a possibility with some creative editing and rigging.
Iâm still of the opinion that female Ogres should be brutish and savage-like, similar to male Ogres. Sure, they may not be played a whole lot, but the idea that people can have that as an option for female characters is important for character options and just adds some flavor to the game. Not every female race needs to be beautified into waifu material. Besides, it didnât stop Everquest from having female Ogres at all.
Dream big, Ogre fans!
Why stop there? Letâs use it for Vrykul and Mokânathal as well =D
Just make some new dances
These are actually based of the Male Kultiran rig.
Maybe a cool way to go would be updating the existing Ogre rig for the males and using something like the Male KT rig for the females like the Warmothers.
BfA will enter to one of the big dissapoitments i ever had in this game
first walrods of draenor, when we could have ogres playable, and we got just new models
now the ogres would be the best options to fight in the faction, got cast aside by a bunch of newcomers who joined the game a year ago
now shadowlands will have the same problem as wod, and i feel it got even harden to squeeze ogres there, and more and more i think the game dies and they donât become playable.
Iâm sorry⌠I hope they add ogres for you all.
Iâve long held the opinion that Arakkoa and Ogres should have been core races in WOD, but I guess Blizzardâs budget at the time, couldnât allow for it.
There were rumors that Ogres were once again considered as a playable race for WoD, but sadly that never happened. Iâm unsure on the validity of those rumors, let alone what clan of Ogres would join the Horde and what the Alliance race would be. A shame, as WoD is my least favorite expansion and playable Horde Ogres wouldâve gotten me to like it more than I did.
I still think that the playable faction of Ogres should be the Stonemaul Clan. It has a Warcraft III connection, ties to Rexxar, and are already part of the Horde with some storylines that just need some tidying up. Plenty of backstory and culture to work with, not to mention that they TOTALLY OWE the Horde A LOT. Something Iâve said multiple times before and likely will continue to say multiple times more in the future.
Speaking of Rexxar, I still havenât really see much of him. The last time we saw him, he was grumbling about how there are others that would need to hear about Sylvanasâ nefarious deeds. I believe he attended Saurfangâs funeral, andâŚwe havenât seen or heard from him since. Not to mention we donât know his thoughts on the peace treaty between the Horde and Alliance, let alone if he still wants to kill Jaina, for that matter.
Seems like a missed opportunity to rally the Stonemaul Clan to help against Sylvanas, but maybe Rexxar could still be involved if the Stonemaul Clan Ogres ever became a Horde core or allied race in the future. Who knows when weâll see Horde Ogres utilized, though?
Dream big, Ogre fans!
I think a good race at the time that they could have paired with ogres during WoD would be the Arrakoa. Would have definitely made the whole expansion a lot more well received by players.
Iâve been thinking about female Ogres some (no, not in that way you perverts) and I wanted to write some about their importance if Ogres become playable.
First of all, Iâve mentioned before several times in this thread that I would expect female Ogres to be as dumb, savage, and ugly as regular male Ogres. There is a bit of importance in doing that. Namely marketing, worldbuilding, and even offering something for players who want to play as a female Ogre.
In terms of marketing, there are two major forms of marketing buzz that will occur if Ogres ever got to be playable:
-
How did they get two-headed Ogres to work for players?
-
What do female Ogres look like?
These are two things that will likely spread through the internet like wildfire. Youtube content creators will create all sorts of videos on this, gaming news websites will write several articles on them, and word-of-mouth spreads. A lot of marketing potential here with whatever expansion they would arrive in.
In terms of worldbuilding, female Ogres would have a place in the game if Ogres did become playable. There are chances for female Ogre NPCâs and quest givers with personality, and it offers something unique instead of the usual dumb male race. Not to mention that designing playable female Ogres means you can apply that to female Ogre mobs. It just adds to Ogre presence in general.
As for players who would want to actually play a female Ogre, it wouldnât be a huge amount, but itâs something for them. There are some women that donât really want to play dolled up or waifu type characters, wanting instead something big, strong, and dumb. Sure, female Ogres wouldnât be the most played race, but it offers something for those type of players who want that savagery theme and adds some flavor in general to character designing. Iâm sure it would also give some roleplayers potential character ideas on RP servers, and I donât mean the Goldshire inn.
I recall back in Everquest 1 with the original models and female dwarves, who werenât played that much back in the day. One of their customization options was to have bearded female dwarves. Weird, isnât it? Obviously, that wasnât really popular and wasnât really used by people much when making their characters. The thing is that, in some media, female dwarves did have facial hair, and even if people found it to be ugly, it did get them to talk about the game some and did add some subtle worldbuilding to the game. Now, Iâm not saying to have bearded female Ogres, but some customization options are reasonable enough to at least add to the game in some ways.
My opinion is that female Ogres should not be looked as obstacles. Instead, they should be viewed as assets that will add more flavor to player character creation. Again, they wonât be played that much compared to other races, but sometimes just being there still adds to the game. Just my opinion, of course.
Dream big, Ogre fans!
Has there been any concept art on female Ogres? All I ever see is that boss from one of the dungeons, which I am not a fan of.
I was thinking of modeling one but I know my version is one most Ogre fans donât like just from past responses. Plus I am working on my game and model everything for it so a female Ogre would be a slow process for me.
On top of that, I would prefer to work on a MokâNathal model but I just love the Rexxar version they have now. My version would fall far short imo.
Iâm hoping they model them after the fat blood troll model and have them share animations and skeleton. Fits perfectly. Just needs some tweaks.
The main official artwork of a female Ogre is from the Traveler book series, which has a female Ogre character in it:
Apparently, the Traveler series also had artwork of an âOgre Girlâ seen here, which looks like a female Orc for the most part:
Around the BC era of WoW, there was some image of what was suppose to be a female Ogre that was just a weird, dumpty looking hag with grizzled hair. I canât find that image, let alone know where it originated from, but I donât think it would be used at all for any practical female Ogre designing.
The only other official thing I can remember was the female Ogre mask from, if I recall correctly, Hallowâs End:
As far as Iâm aware of, those are the only official representations of female Ogres in some fashion. There are a few fan-made models and some fan artwork floating around on the internet as well, both of the one and two head variety.
If you mean Princess Theradras, she actually isnât an Ogre. She is suppose to be an earth elemental, according to Wowpedia.
Dream big, Ogre fans!
Iâm actually thinking it would not take too much to use the female Orc model for female Ogres.
Thatâs the picture I keep seeing. The Karrga one. I mistook it for that elemental boss lady. Not a fan of the Karrga one tbh.
A lot really depends on how Blizzard makes player models. It could be possible to use female Orc models in some ways. Since Ogres are the progenitors of Orcs, female Ogres could have some resemblance to Orcs provided that female Ogres still have a unique look. Some people have suggested the female Kul Tiran model also, at least in terms of animations and body size/mass.
Iâm still of the opinion that the current male Ogre model would work just fine for playable male Ogres. They already have several animations (especially since most moonkin forms utilize the same model), ride mounts, and even have their own dance. It just needs some polishing up, animations added, and armor graphics added to them and it would work fine, in my opinion.
Speaking of dances, female Ogres would need their own dance. Iâm not sure I have the best of suggestions, but it is something worth discussing.
I admit this is a bit reaching, but âPurple People Eaterâ by Sheb Wooley is a possibility. Granted, it mostly refers to an alien, but some descriptions such as one eye and one horn could apply to Ogres. Plus, the title of âpeople eaterâ could fit Ogres quite well.
I think I need some time to look up more appropriate dances, but I wanted to mention it in hopes people would have some ideas to share.
Dream big, Ogre fans!
You have my vote.
I think that dance would be perfect for female ogres. Nice one.
