Read entire posts before you comment. Yes, the population would be balanced numerically but the world would still be dramatically less populated outside of raid days.
Its a mega server every day will be a raid day and will be populated.
I don’t get the whole thing about “unbalancing the sv” do you really believe only one faction is going to transfer to PVE server? no, of course not. Servers will be balanced even if they allow PVP → PVE and they totally should allow it.
The people that want’s to get out, they should be able to do it and not only that but a lot of people (me included) went to another server to avoid Streamers and now Blizzard’s plan is to merge everything so Streamers are going to be part of the menu again which a lot of people has problems with. (and they are right, it’s pure cancer)
I play on a PvE Server.
It’s a megaserver, you’ll have plenty of PvPers to gank if the PvErs leave.
Correct but guess what faction thats gonna be transferring the most? (Hint its not horde).
All it takes is a small imbalance then its actually imbalanced for the Alliance, so more ally dont wanna deal with it and will leave. Its a slippery slope as the moment we allow transfers it will tip the scale even if its on a PVP Mega server.
People keep crying about streamers but in reality all u really mean is Asmongold. Asmongold hasnt played SoD in a minute, his guild (The Wall) is dead afaik and even when they were active they never caused any problems. The most active streamer to the open world is Xaryu and its cause he would host BRM PVP events where he and his stream would hold it down. Ur literally fighting ghosts that dont exist, been here day 1 since P1 streamers never caused problems.
Typical andrew, hates wow and other players and wants the game to die. You guys are so weird.
Most already quit and you have a dead game now merging servers. But hey you got to be an edge lord online! Win/win right lol
~30k players on the server we will be fine. The only reason the merge is occurring is for the people who chose the wrong server as their realms are actually “dead”. Nice try though
Huh? Ive been playing more wow in the last 2 months than i have since p1 of SoD.
Then dont roll on PVP servers? its really really simple and you have had 20 years to figure it out.
It was “roll on a PvP server with my friends” or “Play alone on PvE” so I made the sacrifice and rolled on PvP. Now they’re all sick of the griefing, as am I, and we’ve got no choice but to deal with it because Blizz won’t allow transfers off realm.
Didn’t sod introduce new faction balancing so it wouldn’t end up like every single past PvP server where one faction dominates the other in population?
But we were supposed to know that means everyone just stacks and layer swaps until they get on the layer where they outnumber the other faction 10-1?
A lot of us thought these PvP servers would be different. We were wrong and it’s the same old 10v1 ganking low lvl players repeatedly until they log off or layer swap.
^ Pretty much this, as I said it many many times, it’s not fun for any sides because if you are winning you will prob have a lack on people to kill and if you are dying over and over then you’re just getting griefed. There’s no PVP on PVP servers, just pure griefing.
Let us move from PvP to PvE.
Holding everyone hostage in the name of server faction balance is dumb. This is season of discovery, the developers tried a bunch of stuff and it is clear PvP balance took a back seat when compared to PvE balance. Which is fine but don’t punish players who went in with the assumption there would be some balance.
Let players go where they want.
They don’t want to let the PvE’ers transfer to PvE realms because they know it’s the only kills they can get to make themselves feel good about actually being able to kill someone in PvP. Otherwise they probably just getting rolled in PvP when facing people that actually want to PvP.
That’s about what I expected.
take this as a lesson learned to make more informed decisions in the future.
everyone shouldve known what it was to roll on a pvp server as there is 20 years worth of info to go on .
i rolled on one fully expecting getting ganked and camped and pvped against in inopportune times.
sadly my hope for people fades a bit when realizing people made stupid mistakes even with the info already out there and available .
There’s quite a BIG GIGANTIC difference between rolling on a “small” pvp server and a MEGA PVP server, that’s the BIG problem over here.
Also I played Whitemane back on classic, griefing was not THIS BIG at all.
Now it’s just a pure griefing fiesta you like it or not, servers are not balanced and there’s always 1 side getting griefed non-stop.
Also I went to Lonewolf to not have to deal with streamers, now we are being forced to deal with them? Give me a break.
i dont think the streamer thing is even a thing anymore to be honest.
nearly all of them dont even play sod anymore.
the point remains that we all made our chars on pvp servers and either knowingly or not agreed to what that entails.
to think that people diddnt have any info on what that was or diddnt make an informed decision on something they would be playing 6+ months is silly to an extreme that i find obnoxious.
just because there is more of what makes the server a pvp server (and somehow that is a problem now or whatever) means little to people who actually made informed decisions.
also if you guys knew this wasnt what you wanted you couldve easily rolled up a character or two and gotten to max and made some gold when incursions were a thing.
you couldve found a guild .
you couldve taken the initiative and done something about it but you sit passive expecting other people to fix your own mistake.
