Megamerge PvP->PvE, a plea to Blizzard

nope this will bring balancing issues. kick rocks .

Yet here you are crying about ur decision. I dont care why you chose to come to a PVP server, at the end of the day YOU made that choice. Im not even simping?, im just saying they had promised us balanced servers you a PVE server andy joined and now want to leave which will harm the balance.

Except they wont, more people will just suck it up and continue to play rather than quit or reroll.

Except you and the other PVErs keep acting like its only 5 of you wanting off. Which may be true at the start but as the balance tips more and more torwards Horde side people will want to continue to leave.

TLDR: PVE server crybabys roll PVP then dont like PVP despite it being obvious what was gonna occur day 1. More news at 11.

You “PVP” server players are just upset that you won’t be able to gank people 20 lvls lower than you.

PvP on classic is a complete joke and sod balancing made it even worse.

Players will just re roll to pve or quit the game. Or just raid log.

Peak sod PvP:
Get ganked by a 5 man group that’s 10 lvls higher than you 5 times in a row.

Spam LFG and your guild for a layer swap until you find the layer where your faction outnumbers the other.

Really great gameplay right there.

No im not, I dont even gank lower levels. All the PVP I do is in the higher level zones and BGs where the actual players are in abundance. Also since PVP on classic is a joke thats a extra reason you shouldnt have rolled here

Seems the average player whos complaining about this will simply play as normal and suck it up, which still keeps the world active and the population balanced.

There are guilds on CS who like to go to low level zones for “PVP” but thats not what im talking about and that isnt the average player either. “Abusing” the layer swap system is a player choice. Ive never really had to worry about “Faction layers” outside of day 1 incursions.

The average pvp experience for a player in the open world is getting repeatedly ganked by people that outnumber and out level you. We all know it.

I escaped the crap pvp servers when they offered transfers a while back. There were 40 man raid groups in ashenvale incursions 24/7 and it was impossible to actually do the incursions without layer hopping to find your faction’s server. Such great gameplay.

How does a player getting repeatedly ganked and then quitting or re rolling pve keep the population balanced?

Sure start of phase? Ive leveled up my alts from 30-60 throughout the ends of the phase and hardly got ganked and im on CS from Day 1.

Also unironically that was blizzards fault, hundreds of people doing incursions it was unironically meta (Just like how it was start of P4 in BRM) to constantly gank people doing incursions since the Honor per hour was unattainable via any other source. They could have made a zonewide thing where u didnt get honor, or had guards spawn in during the incursion itself but they didnt.

Also being ganked, outnumbered and outleveled is technically part of the PVP server experience. Does it suck? Sure but its not like PVP server behaviour was some secret.

Frankly if you didnt make a effort to reroll during the 8 months of “non relevant” content we had you most likely arent gonna be part of the people quitting and ur just gonna suck it up. You had 8 months from P1 to reroll, and it was especially easy in P3 due to incursions.

Sounds like you should be blaming your friends/guild instead of whining to Blizzard lol. All I see is crying from people who get ganked after WILLINGLY joining a server that allows you to get ganked. You all had the opportunity to roll where you wanted at the very start of this. I have no sympathy for said people, sadly.

Everybody expected to occasionally be ganked on PvP servers. We did not expect multiple 40 man raid group gank squads to repeatedly kill lower level players until they logged off or swapped layers with blizz’s new 50/50 faction balance tech.

The 50/50 faction balance tech was bait by blizz and ended up being a complete failure where the meta is to just stack layers with one faction and then swap to your factions layer so you can actually play the game.

PvP servers have been around since the very beginning and have always operated in the same way. This is nothing new. Should have done more research and made a better decision. It is what it is.

The 50/50 forced faction balance for PvP servers has been around since the beginning??

The entire reason a lot people decided to try the pvp servers this time around was this new forced faction balance. Which just caused factions to swap layers until they find the one they outnumber the other.

This whole thing would have been easily avoided with Warmode.

Not only would it of allowed PVPers and PVEers to play on the same ‘world’ (with zone instances). They could easily maintain faction balance by either preventing the ‘other faction’ for turning on Warmode or by heavily incentivizing the ‘other faction’ to “flag up”.

…and no, ‘/pvp’ isn’t the same thing.

But nuBlizzard’s never been one to do things smart; that’s what you get when you chase profits.

So. All I can say is, reroll, and in the next iteration on this dying IP, don’t pick PVP Servers. And this is coming from an avid PVPer.

Adding a plus one for pvp to pve.

I support this. Anyone should be able to flee a PvP Server for a PvE server.

Perfect guild name for this comment. Us quitting brings the same balance issues. Pound sand. =)

I actually agree with this, as someone who rolled PVE in SoD because I had the sense to know PVP servers are terrible. Learned that lesson in 2019.

If people hate the game mode and don’t want to play it, let them move. We don’t need more people quitting SoD because people demand easy targets.

Next time, roll on the PVE server guys.

I support this, allow PvP to PvE transfers. It doesn’t make sense to lock people onto PvP servers when they don’t want to be there. It’s bad for business.

If faction balance is necessary then just lock a side if it starts to become that way until more on the other side transfer off.

I’m all for PvP to PvE for the health of the game, but seriously folks - if you don’t want to engage in PvP, don’t roll on one.

And yes, being camped is PvP.

No you knew what u were getting into, u dont get to leave easily and contribute to a truly imbalanced server population because u made the wrong choice despite knowing how PVP servers play.

Except most wont quit as they have sunk cost fallacy and will instead continue to suck it up, play and keep the world active.

I don’t think you understand, if we quit playing or only raid log because we hate being on a PvP realm, the population is still imbalanced. The only difference is that we’re miserable.
