Because if we make enough noise they might actually see it and take it into consideration… please consider those of us who want to get off the PvP servers we rolled on at the start of SoD for various reasons (friends, where our guilds were going, thought it would be fun, etc) and now want out.
We just want to enjoy however many months are left of SoD without getting relentlessly ganked and griefed, and not have to lose 4 phases of progress with the 5th phase in a couple weeks.
Please don’t hold us hostage for the sake of faction balance. Let those who want to move to a PvP megaserver do so, but let those who want out, out. Do not punish your players for past choices when you could very easily give them a way out. Reclaim some good will from your community.
Thanks,
a SoD enjoyer who wants to escape the griefing
Ah yes the “open at random intervals server transfers” were so notoriously good for moving entire guilds over and definitely didn’t leave large portions of guilds stranded or anything. =)
I love how the entire opposition to this is “But then the PVP server will get imbalanced!”
Well yah, that’s how every PVP server, has ever worked. For the entirety of this games lifespan. People don’t actually want a balanced PVP server, they want to pretend they are hardcore and play on a server dominated by the faction they play. Maybe occasionally gank lowbies.
Hope they let you escape your mistake bud, next time try and convince your friends not to play on the griefing realms. They were fun in actual Vanilla, but from 2019 P2 onward it’s been pretty clear how horrific every single one of them would inevitably become.
I understand that people like their PvP realms, but saying people should be held prisoner so the PvPers can farm them, which is just going to make them quit anyway, is a terrible take. The options at this point from a player perspective are “Get farmed by griefers for another X months”, or “Quit and lose almost a year of progress.”
If they want to keep people playing, the choice is clear: Give PvP-weary people a way out to a PvE server. Leave the PvP megaserver for the PvP fanatics.
Its actually not though, PVP players were promised balanced realms. You chose to roll on a PVP server, u now no longer enjoy being on one and want to leave, issue is u arent the only one so if they allowed you all to leave you would ruin the balancing of the server despite Blizzard promising us they would keep factions balanced.
Also they wont quit in most cases, Idk if it was you or another NE Warrior I talked to on the forums but u would be surprised how many people who instead of quitting will simply suck it up and keep the world active.
Except u would ruin the PVP servers balancing due to u and the other PVP->PVE andies decision making.
A lot of us “PvE andies” are stuck here because it’s where our guilds/friends chose to play. Being on a PvP realm was only a minor inconvenience in P1-3, but P4 has ratcheted up the toxicity greatly. Now we’re told that our only choice is to stay on a dead world or move to a world full of even more toxic griefers and streamer fanboys.
Yup and respectfully ur a human being who can make ur own decisions. At the end of the day you still chose to join a PVP server even if it was just to play with ur friends.
Correct because its endgame this was only to be expected and was known from previous versions of classic.
Yup, ur guild if large enough or sweaty enough can self sustain urselves if u really want, theres a guild on Chaos Bolt doing exactly that. A lot of u guys complain about streamers and their fanboys but in reality u dont really see them often and they dont do anything negative. Last time a streamer “effected” my gameplay was Xaryu and his stream holding down BRM.
TLDR: You still chose to roll on a PVP server and shouldnt be allowed to ruin balancing due to ur own choice. Lvl 60 so more trolling will obviously occur. Streamer fanbodys and CS in general isnt nearly as bad as the forums and reddit want u to believe.
We should be allowed to move to pve from pvp, historically this has never been limited and if the choice is sit on a dead server or continue being on a server type you dont want to be on the only remaining option is to quit
Exactly, the majority of one faction (The Alliance) Want to move because they are slightly outnumbered. Faction balanced servers or not. One side is always going to be dominant.
The experiment (Which was a good idea, I’m not saying it wasn’t) Failed. PVP servers are just inherently ****holes.
Yup and u still shouldnt be able to leave. The horde is only slightly more dominant in terms of population alone. The real issue is the fact that they didnt fix racials for alliance so all the actual PVPers went Horde. Its pretty sad when me and 3 of my friends can 4v15 ally trying to win in AV. That shouldnt be possible since two of us are healers but the ally just seem to not be very good at PVP. Its unironically more of a skill issue atp.
Respectfully it never failed, we still have balanced servers. Its not a failiure just because PVE server andys rolled PVP then cried about it.
let em go pve. if they dont wanna pvp they’ll just wait for off hours to do essential upkeep, or quit, neither of which is good for the game or its lasting impression which will impact any future project. I rolled pvp for a pvp server, garbage balance and all, but I bet nobody could have anticipated how wacky SOD pvp is. So eff it, let em go pve. It’s more important they get to have fun somewhere else, than it is for me to randomly gank em in feralas or w/e
Since u cant seem or refuse to understand here is my argument:
PVP players were promised a balanced PVP server, u a PVE enjoyer joined to play with friends therefor you and ur friends are now part of this balanced population.
You and ur PVE friends who rolled PVP now want to leave and ruin the balancing the current server has. By doing so it will tip the balancing of the server and it will actually be unbalanced, well no one likes to be on the short end of the stick so Ally will keep on leaving the server since transfers are open anyways.
Which turns the relatively balanced server into a complete Horde majority/control. Then its hard for me to actually find Ally to PVP with in the open world. I will not have plenty of people to fight when people keep leaving the server due to horde dominance. This is exactly what happened on Whitemane back when TBC dropped.
Great job then, a lot of people didnt or chose to ignore it and are now asking to ruin the server balance for us. Had they chose to go PVE from the start this never would have been a problem.
I completely disagree with you. You would think they would quit but in reality a lot of them will simply continue to just suck it up and continue playing. I also rolled on a PVP server but one of the reasons I did was because they PROMISED us faction balancing. You may not care but I and many others do and thats what was promised to us.
No one may have expected this type of PVP balancing sure, but you 100% knew what you were getting into when rolling PVP.
