Mega Servers

they literally are, you get what you deserve when you want to avoid aspects of the game that matter, like community. You dont have a community on a megaserver. You just wanted instant groups for everything without effort.

Enjoy the queues, you can xfer off anytime! to be fair i would have saved you megaserver clowns from yourselves if blizzard had let me run classic like a dictator, amongst many other things.

they ran their game on different engines, with likely far less complex, but likely more robust, anti-cheat software, you have no idea what backend work is happening with wrath, im not saying its superior to certain things pservers did but its just completely different. If they actually let private server devs have a proper position in the classic dev teams maybe they could have brought over some of their code, but that’ll never happen now.

why havent they adjusted for that? seems like a pretty silly thing to overlook.

That’s not a good comparison. A better one would be an airline selling 400 tickets for an aircraft that only seats 200 people. That’s the fault of the airline for overselling tickets, not the fault of the passengers who bought tickets they were offered.

Mega servers are causing classic to fail. The world of classic is coming to a slow halt because of them.

It’s the end of the World…of Warcraft.

You can also buy a bushel of straw and make a man out of it. It’s not going to help you sound any more intelligent.

He doesn’t understand that a consumption problem can be curtailed by limited the supply by the producer. Also doesn’t understand the fear mentality of players when everyone mass exodus’s a server to a big one.

How can all these players leave if the destination is locked?

Hmmmmm let’s think about that one

Something no one is talking about—mega guilds!

The true scourge of Azeroth.

You and the original grob players got screwed for sure… By players who paid.

Sure, Blizzard offered paid transfers, but players demanded the service.

You can still provide the service but cap the number of people who can transfer you clown

It was a floodgate opened by blizzard to make money. They didn’t limit transfers literally at all…

Name calling is inappropriate. I hope you don’t catch a ban.

Also, folks are still crying for the locked servers to be unlocked. :man_shrugging:

You’ve played on private servers with 60k concurrent players?

Players are always going to demand all kinds of things, including things that are bad for the game. It’s Blizzard’s job to not give in to the harmful demands.

Once they allowed for transfers, they had to take into account friends and guilds. There’s really no good solution, if you think about it.

Which is why transfers should have never been allowed in the first place. People aren’t going to change servers at the drop of a hat if that means starting over.

Agreed. Transfers were bad.

I had to roll on Remulos if I wanted to keep my name, so my mains are all there. The BG queue sucks, and there’s a constant 250ms ping. Other than that, I actually really like the server.

I did start over on Maladath. I could hang out there, too… but I won’t have the character history.

Yeah, I’m a victim, too.
