You are talaking about something happened 15 years ago…how its fair that after 15 years the problem is even worse?
Nice. I’m on Mankrik (with my brother and co-workers/friends) and when I try to log on in about 1.5 hours I suspect I will have to wait hours to get in.
That’s awesome that you’re playing, though. Keep on it.
man what a terrible response. all you people had to do, was have these other servers available at launch so people could be on the same server as their friends and not have to endure 8 hour queues everyday for however long this lasts. this is ridiculous and the lack of preparation on your end is embarrassing to say the least. not that you really care though because your salary stays the same. pretty sad that as an hourly employee for a crappier company, i care more about my customers than some multi billion dollar corporation that has entire teams of quality workers on salary and stand-by. can you people actually care about the majority of your player base for one fricken moment in time… good lord.
he tried to log in in my computer and still have 30 minutes queue… i took back my pc and insta logged in the same low pop realm (bigglessworth) XD
dont give them any ideas. from the way this is going, it appears they want the classic player base to crash and burn so they dont have to spend money on extra resources. they only did this because of the private server dilemma not because of their ‘love’ for the game. theyd love to tell the player base , “HA, WE TOLD YOU SO!!”. its becoming more and more obvious as they screw this up more and more. they had all the time to get it right, and willfully failed to do so.
I hate to put on the foil hat, but it’s getting really hard to fight against that idea.
People so scared of low pop servers they would rather wait 10 hours, lol.
“We have the ability to open as many servers as needed” But we wont cause sitting in 15 thousand queues is much better than having to provide free sever transfers in a few months. We might lose out on all those fifteens of dollars.
You think you do but you don’t understand our frustration. The effort that was put into this was too little too late.(why would you use the stress test data) Kromcrush was added during launch and I was still at over 9k in queue, so I waited on the original server queue that all the people I want to play with went on. This isn’t a small indie company launching their first game. We didn’t resub for a 15 year old game to wait in line. Our group is talking constantly about whether we should change servers, which is a conversation that we shouldn’t need to have. What are we supposed to do with a server of 30k when phase two hits? It feels like you sabotage your own launch.
Exactly. People spent days, weeks, trying to get old groups back together and connect with people they had played with, who connected with people they played with.
All these people picked one of the realms that existed at the time, and now it’s somehow their fault that they want to keep their group together?
This should have been planed for and this problem was created by making a hand full of servers of each type of game experiance per location. This should have been treated almost as a new launch. Not to think of it that way was a stupid mistake. Find that one guy who said we should probably make more servers and give him a raise. The team that thought it was stupid idea should be working for him now.
They knew this was coming, a none gamer who knows nothing of the gaming climate over the past 10 years could have saw this coming. They know what they are doing, they are willing to do anything to avoid providing a service they typically charge for , for free. Today should have shown us 2-3 new servers , and they didn’t. Instead they tell us “we could roll out new servers at any minute, but we’re not. Cause its all your fault none of you guys will move your 20 friends”
Which isn’t how it used to work. The realms that has queues were the “Full” population realms. Before last night I’d never seen a queue when the population read medium.
I am on Incendius and both times I’ve tried to login since launch have been met with a 6000th + position in queu and a minimum of an hour and a half wait. The first time I waited over two hours.
I do know you are trying to do the best you can… and probably have had lots of idea brought up to you. but here is another idea…create a few severs that are not even listed to new users… but ones that would be available to move from a high pop with your guild or friends and if its pvp then have a good ratio being transferred for free. work with it to be balance out in time… and if they seem to be low severs then moved a guild back to one of the ones with healthy pop… yes for free… i do know i am calculating my time that i am here to play and am sitting in q… no reason in starting on another sever as my friends are in playing on the one i am q for. i even understand having a q. but for over an hour its not the best feeling. So what if you have some free sever transfers for a little bit… it will be better than having so many of the wow community sitting and waiting. I bet some people that have been waiting for this release have not even go to play yet. Please think of ways to honor the players that want to play this game and support the franchise. I could go on an on since i am just here waiting in line to get logged in.
4 hours in queue and i get back to a “disconnected” screen
The realm status page accessible on the Internet is the sanitized version for the corporate execs. The realm status shows all Classic realms at Medium or Low. All green, all happy faces.
Meanwhile, right now, there are queues in the thousands on at least three Classic realms. The true pop status is on the realm select page in the WoW client. Always has been.
If this is the best they can do, the entire team responsible for the number and type of servers and when they are launched should be fired. From a business stand point this was an avoidable problem where they had plenty of warning and data to resolve it and elected not to.
You guys should really issue an apology. Simply opening new realms is not okay. You lost the mark on this one tremendously. People knew about name reservations for 6 months (or however long it was) and that was thrown out the window in a matter of weeks. People can’t simply change servers. It’s not 2004 anymore. Classic has been out for a very long time, and many communities were built and thriving ahead of classic for MONTHS. Guilds and friend groups can’t just up and move because Steve and Dennis are in a 20 hour queue but 5 other friends are already level 20. This is all an incredible mistake…one that will go down in the books. I think Blizzard should take some accountability and apologize for this incredibly poor situation
And for people talking about how “this has always been”…well, it’s been 15 years.
They know and don’t care, it’s all about the bottom dollar, they know the only way to milk money is to allow this to happen and then add paid server transfer. If that wasn’t the case they wouldn’t state everyday that they are trying to avoid doing free server transfers in a month, like they are doing us a favor
