I agree 100% the over bloated mechanics are way too much.

That’s the only way they know how to design the game, just add more CC and swirls on the ground.

I really have no idea what they are complaining about. These new fangle electronic cars practically fix themselves.

Oh no!! Anyway…

Each on their own isn’t bad, that being heavy mechanics or button bloat, but combined is the problem I think is the issue with resonates in most of DF dungeons and raid.

Having abilities for the sake of another button to push does not make fun gameplay. The alternative is to not take those extra button pushes, diminishes DPS or HPS one is able to achieve effectively.

DF endgame pve content is the the hardest the game has ever been. There is absolutly a problem with mechanic creep as evidenced by how much easier the old dungeons in M+ are compared to the DF ones.

Bosses have too many mechanics many of which arent telegraphed to the player well, theres too many god damned swirlies on the ground, trash (can we even call it trash anymore?) are often more dangerous than the boss and require constant interrupts and control. This dosnt even include the affixes which it feels like there are more and more “dead key” weeks than ever before. The burden on healers especially is way to much. Even when you do everything right its exhausting to keep everyone up, let alone if some one makes a mistake or misses one of the 100+ interrupts required.

The Raid is better for the most part. Still too many swirlies. But Raszageth is such a slog. The fight is too long, the swirlie problem is dialed up to 11 and there are too many cases where if one person messes up a mechanic its a wipe.

This game is definitely being designed around the top 20% of players who been playing the game for 15+ years and have all the fancy addons that tell them what the hell the 100 million mechanics actually do.

Exactly.
Screw creativity…just SLOW/ROOT/STUN/CIRCLE OF DEATH till their bored stiff with it.

I think I’d be fine with a ton of mechanics if they slowed combat down a little bit.

Let the kids hepped up on energy drinks and ritalin go ruin some other game.

I think I big problem is readability, a lot of mechanics are hard to read what they’re going to do unless you’ve watched a guide or read the dungeon journal, would be nice to just see something happening and immediately think ok I need to move, or even just the fact that some spell effects will be the exact same colour as the boss room and they’re hard to see, like the small circles on denathrius before they changed to bright orange

the bosses arent the issue outside of maybe last boss in RLP because of the insane movement sometimes or Birdboss in Academy, same reason there

its the packs with 10 different constant interrupts, 4 abilities that need to be CC’d, 6 frontals, 2+ affixes going off constantly, constant target switching or being top 1% FPS mouseovering -
all while having to play the most complicated specs have probably ever been in general, with double the amount of buttons and literally no way to be competitive without weakauras/nameplates at this point

WoW is BY FAR the hardest MMO out there, no competition whatsoever, yeah ultimates might be spicey in ff but thats one fight

go pull 3 packs in HOV this week (you have to if u wanna make the timer in a real key) and tell me how easy it is

Its been this way for awhile. They wont stop until it cost them more money.

I feel like this expansion really toned the mechanics down honestly. Like the mechanics are all pretty simple, just more punishing if you scuff them.

Uh, yea OP, it’s because they have to develop the game with addons in mind.

Like the first triple pull? Set Focus on the thundercaller and focus kick/stun/cc them. Don’t stand in front of the mobs, hope your tank doesn’t kite in a cringe way if you’re melee.

Yeah I think mechanic burnout is part of it for me. It’s always the same game and that’s partly due to an almost 20 years running game. The game gets increasingly more complex while I get increasingly less time to play it. Makes me miss the older versions, but even then, I just don’t have the time to invest in something that takes so much repetition to complete. Not sure if they should change it though. I think there is a big enough player base that wants to do the research and download all the addons and practice for hours and hours a day, fine for them. I just can’t do it anymore. I might just be more fit these days for a self-paced, single player game. As much as I don’t want to let go of WoW. I’ve played since 2005.

Frontals, tank cleaves, small aoe, big aoe, sang, storming and the ever so fun game of chase the ranged player greeding thundering affix so we can clear - melee moves just as much as you and while you might think is better because of always casting, melee range is a thing, targeted ground abilities are a thing.

If a melee ever gets 10 secs without movement we are either dead or standing in something we arent supposed to.

youre sorely underselling the mechanics in dungeons, add 3 -4 from mythic plus to that pool too and yeah hes right.

Makes it rough, if you don’t have the best vision either. So much aoe/ spell visuals from bosses, and players makes it difficult sometimes. The dragon fight in particular. So much boss aoe, you step in one direction you run into something else one shot lol.

Playing a caster in season 1 of Dragonflight is arguably the worst experience in all of modern gaming. Average time to move is a little under every 2.5 seconds in M+ on Volcanic/Quaking weeks.
