  • Demon Hunter

I’ve said it too many times at this stage. Scroll up. Ffs.

I’ve actually enjoyed the bosses this expansion. When it comes to bloat, I think some of the classes have gotten so much bloat. I don’t like playing ret paladin as much because of that. I’ve actually started raiding and doing mythic+ on my hunter now because it’s just more fun. It gets kinda stressful to me to watch cds on 12+ abilities, and also watch boss mechanics. Just me, I’m sure.

You guys are serious? Most trash pack have 1 or 2 things you have to do and dungeon bosses usually revolves around 1 key mechanic with a couple smaller ones.

If you think this is bloated, go play classic please.

I did. Classic mechanics are waaaaay easier.
Burning Crusade had more mechanics but still very doable.
Wrath of the Lich King wasn’t all that bad. A few fights, sure.

Cataclysm is when everything became harder, mainly because they started designing the raids with addons in mind.

I think he was suggesting that if you think this is bloated go play classic where it is easier. You can correct me id I am wrong

Ahh, you’re probably right.

Mechanics have been steadily getting more and more complex.

We’ve gone from “someone, anyone interrupt please” to “just don’t stand in the fire” to “rotate around the boss clockwise 14 yards at a time every 17 seconds, then back to the right, then back to the left, then stack, then spread, then pump for 17 seconds and do it again” as the “easy” boss in a tier.

You are correct, most trash pack can be boil down to interrupt 1-2 important casts, don’t get hit by avoidable damage and use your cc in some cases.

Tha avoidable damage comes in different forms, it might be a frontal, dodging a swirl, spreading out, dispelling etc…:

It just the same thing really, after doing the dungeon 1 time you should really know what to expect after that.

This isn’t all that truthful.
The affixes change weekly. Which will make you change your strategies.
The seasonal affixes will also change your routes and pulls too.

A dungeon which is a cakewalk one week will be hell the next based on the affixes.

There is something to be said for simplicity.

Doing a throw combo with King in Tekken 3 might take 20 button presses and directionals while doing a special move in Super Smash Brothers means pushing the special button and maybe one other button.

Certainly things can be simple and fun.

Many mechanics don’t even manifest on lower difficulties. Like the overlap on vexamus. Puddle placement on Dragosa, etc. you don’t even see them.

You see them 1 time and now know, to be careful next time. What’s the big deal?

You play the game, you learn new things and get better.

When I played legion, I only had to worry about 3 affixes and my rotation.

Now if you do high level keys, you have 4 and your rotation. Things change. Not always for the better.

Not to mention priority add kills and interrupts and coordination so you don’t overlap other interrupts. It’s just becoming a bit too complex honestly.

Affixes are a minor nuisance in the worst cases, there are some bad outliers from time to time where they create a problem, but like we saw with explosives and quaking Blizzard usually fixes those.

I still shudder at the thought of sanguine and tol dagor.

I just did WotLK and completed all content. As far as raids and dungeons go, it was a lot more fun. Since I’ve done it all before anyway, I want to play the new stuff. The new stuff is SUPER bloated with instant death, dancing mechanics. There’s literally no comparison.

I feel like the DF dungeons are overly mechanized (particularly azure and nokhud). It just isn’t fun to play them.

below a certain key level you don’t feel it because it’s jsut ‘generic damage’. but when it gets to be one-shots that you must avoid, the game goes into a different realm.
