Finally unlocked them last night. I actually bailed on BFA early with the intention of coming back when they were (obviously) going to be available but life kinda got in the way. Itās worth starting over though, even if itās a little late, heh. Playing one just feels right.

I think we should have gotten gilgoblins instead. Mechagnomes are pretty much in line with how ARs have been since their inception. Iād argue they are more unique then most allied races. Gilgoblins would balance them nicely.

I think Leper Gnomes would have been fun for the Horde. Iād certainly make one!
Story would be pretty basic. Mechagnomes and Gnomes make a push to retake Gnomeregan. Some Leper Gnomes escape through a transporter, with the help from a few named Leper Gnomes. Forsaken can be involved in preventing them from devolving into toxic goo.

Under no circumstances were the Sethrak ever going to be the gnome AR.
AR are based off existing skeletons. You are living in a self created matrix if you believe otherwise.
Edit: also your blanket statement is objectively wrong. If even one person likes Mechagnomes as they are now you would be wrong. I will testify under oath that I enjoy mechagnomes.

Unfortunately, Locutus is currently under maintenance mode as well as the other three Death Knights.
The Pilot is currently unhappy with the state of Death Knights.
Sorry, allow me to clarify. When i say ānobodyāā¦ I mean such a smaller percentage of the population actually likes mechagnomes, despite having a fantastic racial that it doesnāt register. Itās the least played race, DESPITE the racial! They are ugly, they are boring and they are unwanted scraps of metal.

Then let me ask another question. Why does it matter? Blizzard doesnāt choose races based on popularity. There is already many niche races in the game only played by a fraction of the population such as pandas, goblins and dwarves. Every allied race except for void elves maybe can be considered niche too as they are only played by like under 3% of the population. If blizzard catered to all popular requests this would be world of elfcraft.

The majority of players, by a large margin, are blood elf, human, night elf and void elf.
Everyone else is at best estimated at 10% or less.
I feel the same with LF D, with HM T, with Void Elves to a certain extent. All too similar and imo bring nothing to the table. Vulpera were fresh and new, despite me not caring for them. We got the Warcraft equivalent of a race with Body integrity disorder. Literally hacking off limbs because they deem them inferior. Its gross. Itās boring. Gnomes were never interesting to begin with. They were always the joke race.
Wasting development time on another joke race instead of something interesting like Warcrafts first playable reptilian race, one that had an interesting backstory tied to loas and gods. A loa we actually saved! We saw face to face was a slap in the face.
