Dungeon content not being relevant was a problem created by the developers by them introducing 30 levels of raid difficulties. The ilevel bloat that started when LFR was introduced into the game was the main driver that made dungeon running obsolete after a few weeks.
Furthermore, 5 man dungeon content is a stepping stone into raiding and functions better this way as well. Trying to make people repeat the same 8-10 dungeons every season to refarm the same gear is causing huge burn out.
Modern WoW dungeons arenât even interesting anymore and I wouldnât even classify them as a MMO dungeon. Theyâre completely boring right now and lack any kind of unique design because they have to be setup as 25 min murder hallways in order to cater to M+ and yes, dungeons in the older expansions were like this as well, this has been a problem in WoW Wrath.
I donât know what else to say though. M+ is extremely popular and loved amongst the people who do it. If you donât like it, just donât do it. I donât like PvP so I donât do it.
Same for WoW M+ too. People play WoW to raid and PVP, not grind the same 5 man dungeons over and over again on a difficulty that is needlessly stressful.
M+ is one of the most toxic systems I have ever seen implemented into a MMO. I donât care what people say on these forums, M+ is not good casual MMO content.
Also not true, it actually was originally intended to be for casual players.
The original goal of M+ was to provide a way for people who cant dedicate the time to raid, or get that many people, a way to gear themselves up on par with raids.
Trying to shoehorn more hardcore content into a MMO that is mostly occupied by casual players has been an interesting experiment for sure. Systems like M+ and the multitude of other boring over designed systems is basically driving off players. Legion M+ wasnât that big of a deal because Legion had actual content, the last 2 expansions have been lean on actual content for sure.
No i would suggest it was made for pugs at all, im saying it orignally was directed toward people who cant find the time to raid, or get that many people to raid, but still wanted a way to be challenged and get gear.
For most of wow, any one who could not dedicate time to raid, was consider a more casual player, ergo, m+ was geared toward the casual player or the casual group of friends that played together.
Unfortunately its gotten outta hand at this point, and now has taken over as the dominate gearing method in the game.
