First decent buff in forever and what do they get? Mostly a damage buff. The problem for Brew isn’t even about the damage, at this rate Brew will just be a tanky DPS and maybe that is the plan.
It would be nice if they addressed the issues they have properly without inherently breaking how they work.

Maybe they should seek help for their alcoholism.

maybe they’re trying to appeal to the dps to play them, if they are truly a “tanky dps”…
It is sad, that in PVE content, (yes, I know this is not the sweaty norm, but toon have to level somewhere
), I don’t find much difference between the Brew & Mist versions.
This is NOT the case when I run my druid. The Bear is hands down the master of PVE land, in comparison to the Tree.
I would really like to see the Brew able to TANK, because their play style, with stagger, is unique. But, maybe that is just too much to ask…
Yeah it’s not damage we need, it’s some sort of effective heals. Cause the heals we have hit like a wet noodle. I do tier 11 delves solo with DPS Brann and I find it’s easier on a blood DK or prot pally even 20 lower ilvls lol. Monk is painful and not fun

Agreed. The sad part is that Brew should be fun!
“Oh no I don’t agree, let me laugh instead”, got nothing to add?
Look around you dude, least played tank for like 3 expansions because they suck at being a tank.
Not true - brewmaster saw a lot of play in shadowlands season 3 and 4. Their shadowlands tier set was really strong and brewmasters performed very well.
I feel like if blizzard put that tier set bonus into the talent tree, brewmaster would be fixed
In SL S3 they were around the second highest play rate, though only slightly higher than VDH and Ppal, and in S4 they averaged around ~6% representation if my math is right going off mythicstats, which just aggregates runs at the top end. It’s pretty misleading to say they saw “a lot of play” in those seasons. Not that I particularly care if the spec is highly played or not; just want it to be polished.
We have stats you know? For M+ we have:
SL S1 - Least played.
SL S2 - Least played
SL S3 - Second least played tank by 2.7%.
SL S4 - Second least played tank by 0.2%.
Even if we go back to “When Brew was good” according to some we have:
BFA S1 - Second least.
BFA S2 - Second least by 0.1%.
BFA S3 - Least played.
BFA S4 - Least played.
In Legion with the minimal data we have it was bad, least played by quite a bit.
And it was no different in DF, bottom of the barrel in all seasons, and by some margin to, only 6.7% of M+ tanks in S4 were Brew. They are overall from Legion 7.2 to today the bottom of the barrel, least played tank and it’s not even close.
The issue is, BrM could have been good in INSERTSEASONHERE, but the rest of the tanks were just better.
And don’t get me started on the “People don’t like Brews playstyle” being the reason they are not played, nah man, there are people like me who do like the playstyle, but also want a tank that can perform and one that people don’t shun for pugs.
There will be some people in all classes and specs that don’t get played because people don’t like their playstyle, you cannot sit here and say that when there is only 5.4% in this season currently being Brew.
Brew needs help. Even one of the best BrM tanks in the world has been saying they are in need of some help: Brewmaster in need of tuning - Community / General Discussion - World of Warcraft Forums
Don’t believe some random level 10, but believe it BrM needs help.
Rogues always have the best and most helpful comments. You’re the reason I even started coming to the forums*
And I say that with absolutely no sarcasm.
I think a lot of the problem lies in the fact that they are having a hard time balancing with Stagger as a tool for the kit. Honestly, as someone who mained Brew from MoP to Legion, it’s been an issue for balancing for ages.
The only fix I’ve been able to really think of would involve changing Stagger to a cooldown similar to Time Dialation, putting more emphasis on Celestial Brew as an uptime spell instead of a CD, and giving them a more consistent and solid heal through Expel Harm.
But that’s a crazy thought from an old player of the spec. I’ve had much less time on it in the years since.
It’s going to turn into a Feral and Survival spec, where this sentiment plays out a lot, the “I used to play it, but Blizzard doesn’t know what to do with it” comments.
It’s still my preferred tank to play, but feeling as bad to play as it does compared to its peak prevents me from doing much on it.
I remember soloing raid bosses back then. Beating the last 10% of a boss while the guild was on the floor. They couldn’t even dream of trying that now.
They took a lot of the power fantasy away from all of the tanks in general, but Brew is just leagues worse in that regard.
I don’t know what drives people to play any tank but I really don’t know what drives people to play brewmaster in its current state. I feel like I would have just unsubscribed if I were a brew main.
To be fair I’ve also no idea what drives people to play healers and I’ve timed 26s as a healer. Maybe it’s just queue times, or ease of getting into groups like it was for me.
And again, other tanks could do it better.
My first season using a DK was in S2 of BFA, I remember getting to Sylvanus the first time with my guild on heroic, she had some 10-12% health left (It’s been a while) when my guild all fell over and I was the only one left, got her down to 6% or something (5% to finish the fight) before I got frozen and could not continue.
The damage was not an issue, I could have gone on for days at the rate a DK was self-healing back than, if not for the freezing mechanic I would have finished her. BrM may have been strong here or there, but other tanks were just stronger or better and certain things.
I’ve solo killed bosses in M+, and not low keys either as DK, Guardian, Paladin and Warrior, like M22+ of old, Brew may have felt strong, but again, other tanks were just better.
